Beautiful stuff being displayed by JT. Very few if any can mimic and apply the catch and shoot, parry and counter in pocket like James.

Tony was amazing. Can’t imagine how good he could have been if he had discipline. The man knew how to fight. I know he was roided to the gills but he was fighting bigger men for all of his later years. He knew how to box.

Plenty of fights where we saw just how good he was.
    Dude was a legit monster.

He should have stayed at 175. It would have been ideal for him. Or move to heavyweight way earlier.

Toney put on a clinic that night. I love that fight despite it being absolutely 1 sided

Poetry in motion. If anyone deserved the nickname Sugar after SRR, It was Toney.

I can...I honestly believe he had the talent to be regarded as one of thee best to ever grace a ring, like SRR status or the no1 spot even, only discipline stopped him achieving it, I honestly believe his talent is as good as its ever got in a ring, took the **** out of excellent fighters when on form, then struggled with fighters way below him talent wise on other occasions..A true throwback and great fighter

Loved the early rounds but started feeling sorry for Barkley after the 5th. Merciless and sublime pounding of an elite fighter.

Tough to say, that Jirov win was a thing of beauty, but that win over Barkley, OMG! He slipped, bobbed and combo'd..at the same time!
But both McCallum bouts was a thing of dual-beauty. 2 great craftsmen.

If I had to choose my top 5 I'd go

    2. Toney vs Jirov
    3. Toney vs McCallum II
    4. Toney vs Barkley
    5. Toney vs Washington

Nevertheless the Barkley fight was a virtuoso performance!

Wasn't the second fight against McCallum a robbery that McCallum should have won walking away though?
