He didn't go down at all. The back of fury's head bounced off the canvas and he wasn't ready to fight when he got up, which is why he was afforded extra time. Find me another example of a ref giving a fighter that much time after being dropped like that. Money is the reason plain and simple
Your conservative guess of 6 seconds is still a pretty long time after 9 seconds of being off your feet
It's pretty normal for a referee to properly check on a fighter after recovering from a knockdown. It's also common for a referee to order the opponent to a neutral corner. These situations always cause delays but are unfortunately normal.
You said: "It's that if you get up at 9 you should be able to fight. No reason to let him safely shake off cobbwebs in the corner unless your trying to dictate the outcome" Word for word what you said applies to both. But now it's ok to be given extra time to clear your head if you didn't go down, but if you do go down and get up at 9, it's not ok. Lol, that is the most arbitrary and biased crap I've ever read. And the time given to Fury was normal. Seen it a million time in fights. Wilder's though, nope, way more shady.
Such a pity that Wilder couldn't finish a hurt fighter in the 12th round. Shows how **** he is against quality opponents
You are right but what we saw in that fight was not common at all if it is Show me another example then of s ref guiding a fighter back and forth across the ring until he's ready to fight after being on his back for 9 seconds
There are many examples out there. One right off the top of my head is Vic Drakulich in Pacquiao vs Morales III after the second knockdown. I wouldn't blame corruption there at all, it's just the referee is doing his job and making sure the fighter is capable of going on. It can take longer than you expect, but 3-5 seconds shouldn't be anything worth complaining about unless you're looking for trouble yourself. If it's 10+ seconds, then sure, we have a problem.
