Absolutely wasn't in anyway defending FW. Just pointing out that Hearn wasn't exactly a saviour in this episode either (far from it). It was a hot topic on the forums back then mate.
By all accounts Hearn pays his fighters well and on time. I don't realistically think he could be expected to cover the legal bills of people in litigation with previous promoters unless he was active in getting them to break a legit contract that the previous promoter was upholding their side of the bargain in. All this said, I find Hearn a smarmy ******* who has served us up some right **** since he was given the keys to the kingdom.
I think most would think he was active in getting a legit contract broken? There's not much praise to give to either promoter. Paying fighters on time shouldn't be seen as making Hearn some sort of white knight.
Can you imagine a major promotional outfit in the US - like a Top Rank, GBP or Haymon Corp - not paying their fighters? I don't think too much of those guys but I'm sure they do that right as opposed to what a certain fish eyed rat over here has done many a time.
