He’s always been a free agent. He fought on Matchroom shows on a fight by fight. I think he is fighting on the show as opposed to being signed long term.
Just on the show not signed. My guess is jon pegg is matching the under card and used that to keep sam active.
Hopefully he can make enough money for his family, have some more fun along the way and get out with his brains still functioning properly. I've said on here a few times before, I have a soft spot for Eggington, too brave for his own good and sometimes too entertaining for his own good, he loves a tear up!
On the plus side its good to see Channel 5 and Hennessy flying the flag for free to air live boxing. You have to worry though about the amount of punishment Sam took in his last few fights. When I saw this thread title I thought he was calling it a day and if I were his friends or family that's what I'd be hoping for. Either way good luck to him, he's a gutsy guy.
Good luck to the Egg and hope Mick comes back stronger this year - some of his channel 5 fights over the past 5 years were very entertaining.
