We saw what would happen when McCall and Rahman knocked Lewis out and Marciano was floored by Moore who was nowhere near as powerful as Shavers

Out of everyone yes Tyson didn’t get up often but Tyson imo doesn’t get knocked down from that punch to begin with. I don’t believe he was ever dropped off of one punch. Usually it was a cumulation of power shots.

Peak Holmes was knocked down bigtime by Renaldo Snipes who doesn't remotely even begin to compare to Earnie Shavers.

Lucky he was never hit by a Shavers bomb like this one.

For the 3rd time now, all those fighters you mentioned fought to survive after being dropped by shavers.

Tillis was a slick outside fighter and got on his bike.

No need to elaborate on Holmes

Cobb might have had one of the best chins of all time. Shavers was also way past his best. If you are going to make excuses for Ellis and Norton you can't ignore shavers fighting longer than he should have. Cobb also wasn't charging right at shavers either.

Norton was less than 1 year removed from his career best performance against a prime Holmes. He did not suddenly become "washed up" overnight.

Lyle is the only man to slug it out with shavers and survive. The same man who had the equivalent of a prison brawl with a young foreman. Frazier doesn't have Lyle's combination of size and brute strength or his clubbing style.

You seem to think that im suggesting frazier has no chance. I'm not. I've said repeatedly in this very thread shavers might gas out and give frazier an opportunity to stop him even if he managed to drop Frazier. All im saying is there is nothing unrealistic or unlikely in suggesting Fraziers very noticeable habit of jumping right back into the danger zone and fighting it out after being dropped could be his downfall IF he doesn't manage to stop shavers. It's about styles and mentalities.

    Cobb wasn't knocked down.

Tillis is a great mention. Here is Tillis wearing a Shavers home run hit, getting up (to the surprise of Howie) and finishing the round before taking the decision. It's a huge punch with a big windup and not entirely dissimilar to the Holmes punch. Gotta love The Acorn.

My mistake about Cobb. Forgot it was ruled a slip. Haven't watched the fight in a while. My apologies.

Your right that Frazier would comeback hooking himself. That could cost him, he may go down again. Or IMO catch Shavers with something hot in return.
In the scenario the OP framed 33 seconds with Frazier's toughness I dont see Shavers get a knockout in that scenario. There are other variables that could alter that.
It took Foreman who was a monster puncher alot of energy and he had to throw an ungodly # of punches to finally get Merchante to stop it. Shavers has the punch but didnt have Foreman's other attribute like brute strength, size, chin, merciless finishing mentality.

This is all true. 30 seconds is not a lot of time to stop a guy as tough as Frazier. If shavers swings for the fences in the next round, he will likely miss a lot and gas out, leaving himself open for Frazier to rally back.

I just wouldn't be confident betting on it. If boxing was a card game, punchers like shavers and wilder would be wild cards. You can never be too certain.
