Frank needs to work out who he sees as a priority going forward- if Dubois beats Joyce does big Joe stay with him? Bar Fury and Dubois where are his above British level draws?
I wonder who Dubois has signed with. For example, what’s the score with his contract if Queensbury Promotions go out of business?
Seems naive on his part. Think FW will struggle to get DDD the real big fights like with Saunders and Warrington. Hope FW continues to do a good job with him though.
He has still got Liam Williams who could win a world title this year. But his stable is thinning - seems a strange one with Frampton / Fury - cant tell if they have left him for Top Rank or what
He should get Williams built up as hes the only shot hes got a high profile fighter in his peak at the minute with a bit of traction. He should have him fight a faded name in Cardiff someone like Gabe Rosado. At this point both Frampton and Fury are with Top Rank. The both had UK deals with Frank and he is technically a joint promoter but has no input. Rather than having nothing he cut a deal where he will take 5/10% of the 20% Top Rank take as a joint promoter and will have it in the contract that if either of them fight in the UK he has the promotional and TV rights. I get his intention to match his fighters up in 50/50 fights but its left his stable very weak. Gorman, Chelli, Sadiq could have all been built up properly and used as solid main card guys if they wernt thrown to the wolves early. Then the likes of Yarde, Catterall and Edwards all have good prospects but have been built to title fights far to early and havent had the right matching so when they get there they will fall flat on their face. Catterall could learn a lot against the likes of Mike Alvarado, Chris Algieri and Ismeal Barroso and if he cant beat those guys why throw him in against Ramirez. If Yarde had been in against Chilemba or Chad Dawson it would have stood him in good stead against Kovalev and allowed him to have half a chance at filling a stadium for once. Archie Sharp is going down the same route also. A lot of the decision making is questionable. Wouldnt it have been wiser to get Sadiq and Chelli to 10-0 to learn in the pro ranks and have them fight for the british in a solid co main event rather than throwing that fight at them at 3-0 for no reason
Lots of good points here about how he is building fighters - it is a case of some being chucked in too early and others nursed into big fights without the right tests along the way. And Rosado for Williams is a great shout - he is made for him
That's a very interesting question. It may depend on bt sport as well. They may have indicated a willingness to fund DD in a quest for one of the belts. Although maybe top rank will be lurking waiting to pull the same move they made on Fury...
It’s only right to point that Warren has denied not paying Galahad, and that all necessary money was lodged with the IBF.
