Canelo 1-0-1 or 2 draws for me. Both i thought were equally as close but obviously for different reasons. I appreciate how Canelo completely shut down Golovkins offence to the point where G could barely land a right hand , hook or body shot for 12 rounds. Canelo's defense and ring generalship gets overlooked in fight 1. But Judges look favorably on guys who avoid getting hit while also landing the majority of the clean and effective shots. A draw was fair in that fight imo.
I voted 1-1 i scored both for ggg. but the first fight was a blind robbery to be a draw. the second fight i felt could have been a draw but 115-113 isnt that bad. but i scored both for ggg.
I had Golovkin winning twice. I don't like Golovkin. I'm very biased against him (and hate his fans), but I'm objective. He definitely beat Canelo twice.
I had the same score- 115-113 in both fights for GGG. But the first fight felt like a robbery and the second fight felt closer because the rounds were closer. I would be ok with someone thinking of it as 1-0-1 and at a stretch, 1-1. But 2-0 Canelo doesn't compute for me.
I don’t think either significantly separated himself from the other. I do think Canelo of the second fight was the best version of either guy in either fight.
So looks like things have narrowed a bit since when the fights had just taken place although the bulk still have Golovkin winning both. I remember on these boards immediately after the results the reaction was overwhelming that he won both fights. For the record I had GGG winning both. Second was closer, but I thought still fairly decisive.
I had Golovkin UD 116-112 in the first fight and in the second fight I am fine with 115-113 either way or a draw.
There may have been 5 rounds of those two fights that were “decisive” and even those were split...I just can’t fathom how you could watch those two fights and come away saying either guy won decisive.
