Yes I was there. People think that Josh has always been this big ticket selling protected fighter but you'll remember he only did about 70 tickets for that fight. There was times in joshs early career when he struggled to do 30 tickets. He took that fight with Chris when Chris was seen as a good fighter and Josh was the underdog, I'd of said . Iirc 3 fighters had already declined Chris male when he was the mandatory. Simply no one wanted to fight him, at that level.
London eh? We all get a bit of bad luck now and then. Lol. No serious, you enjoying down there.? I know it's another level, living down london, even compared to the big northern cities. It's not for everyone tho
Dean Harrison had a good following and was doing well till he stepped in a short notice to fight mccloskey. Was never the same after that fight.
Spot on ,think it was 18 months out of the ring with injuries and pull outs of purse bids then agreed fights to got pulled. I pretty sure josh was the 5th person offered the fight. Josh was excellent on the night and I've been a fan since.
It's ok. If i had more of a choice of move back up north, it's just a better way I of life imo. Lot of my work is down here though so have to stay.
Oh boy. Me too. I was there for that. When I was an amateur I trained in the same gym as the Lynch Brothers' professional set up so knew Pat quite well. Horrible evening that.
Deano's another great shout Maley. If he'd carried a bit more power he could have been British Champ. I live just outside Wolves. He's still a very popular and well respected bloke. Another one who could have made the list.
One of my faves was steve pearce he was never in a dull fight. Had wars with eggington unsworth and hardy.
His a great lad. His best mates with chris. He was gunna make a comeback but his bicep detached from the bone in a white collar prize fighter he did. He still wanted to fight in the final with one arm. I always say he was the best local value for money fighter. He trains kids now at coops gym.
Guessing we have been to alot of the same local shows. Any one in particular u follow or just a boxing fan
Yes Maley, I would think we've done a lot of the same shows over the years. I love going to the local shows and always have since I was a lad in the late 70's. I don't follow any Fighter in particular although in the last few years I think Jason Welborn has been terrific to watch.
