Crazy for a 4am fight.

 

I'll set my alarm for 5am but I'm not paying for it. I'll flick on the radio and look for a stream.

I'd guess that Fury 'fans' are more likely to stream than AJ 'fans'. And also that people that wake up early are more likely to settle for a **** stream or radio than if you have a few people watching the same screen.

 

Doesn't top rank have a deal with BT?

Not that I’m aware of- I thought Fury has his own deal through Warren.

 

So any Fury fight in the UK has to be on BT sport but US is open to offers.

Yet Sky were bidding for this fight, so that deal can’t be as watertight as that year old article is suggesting surely.

 

Just seems odd BT wouldn't have locked that in. They knew Fury was going to fight Wilder again and it was only going to take place in America.

 

I know, one possibility is that’s it’s a joint Top Rank/PBC promotion, making this fight fall outside of any existing international TV deals.

 

I think I read that BT had the right to match any bid rather than blanket UK rights to his future fights.

 

Maximum 500k buys. I reckon around 400 mark which is good going.

 

If the rumour are true and they bought it for over sky's 10m bid then they need more than good going

 

800,000 seems a bit optimistic. To me that is probably the kinda figure this fight will do US and UK ppv's combined. I'll be watching but not sure if I'm gonna pay for the privilege just yet, the undercard is woefully bad and I anticipate a post 5am start for the main event!

 

This would make sense. It’s clear that Sky did have the option to at least bid for the fight which obviously they wouldn’t have done had BT had complete exclusivity regarding Fury.

Much like Dubois, the deal in place for Fury seems likely to be specifically tied to Queensbury Promotions, and with Frank’s history there appears every option for free agent status to emerge if and when they cease to exist.
