Yeah, he really earned it, by losing every ****ing round and going for broke in the last minute. Please.

Thank god there is still a chance to win a fight in the late stage despite losing the majority of the rounds. Boxing would be very BORING otherwise.

Yep, and in that case the IBF rules in place would have overturned the verdict even if he hadn't been completely upright at the count of 10. Because the rules state that in the final round you only have to start rising at the count 10 for you to have made it after 3:00. He was upright at 8 or 9 and at that point the fight was over, whatever that ridiculous referee was doing at the time.

AGAIN!!!!!!!! WHY it is the refs fault if the time-keeper doesn't ring the bell ****ing bell????????????????? Reiss can't end the fight without a bell.

The "ridiculous" ref gave Perella - like Fury - a generous 8 count after the first KD. Otherwise Ramos had even more time to KTFO him.

My reaction was about the part of the Bute fight, in which there was a ridiculous referee who distracted from (that's where you're right) a screwup from the timekeeper.

Fight was over. Stoppage was incorrect.

I agree. It was clear at the time of the stoppage the clock was out. The bell was not wrung. This fight should be reviewed and reversed. I personally hate Jack Reiss. He is as bad an exhibitionist as you will find in the business. He always wants to be in the spotlight. He shows clear bias in some fights. Gets in the mix WAY too often. He needs to find another profession because he stinks at this one. He needs to know people paid good money and tuned in to watch the boxing, not some ref who wants to be front and center. **** off, Reiss.

The fighter answered the count and was in no more or less danger by it going to the cards. It was disgusting and egregious.

I agree there was no reason for Reiss to stop that fight and I also think there needs to be some consistency when it comes to the counts and the time after the count the referees give you to recover etc.
Reiss and couple others seems to give fighters longer then other refs to recover with instructions and ****ing around after/during the count

Of course, my initial reaction was, "bullsh*t." In a perfect world, Reiss is fully aware of the time and gives Perella that extra second.

But I can also see Reiss' side. His job is fighter safety, not time keeper. Perella was clearly in bad shape.

Just gotta feel a littlw bad for Perella for losing like that.

Reading, looks like the time keeper made a mistake. My guess is they'll order a rematch

On a more philosophical point, I've no problem with the actual stoppage itself. I get the 'only a second to go' aspect but I don't really care about that. The fight is still going on and if you're deemed unable to protect yourself, well then you're done.

I'd say grounds for at least a review to have the commission examine the mistake, and it's causes, so it won't happen again.

Depending on that an NC wouldn't be a stretch.

I get tired of the 20 questions and song and dance when a guy gets knocked down. If you think he can't continue stop the fight, if not, wipe the gloves off and get out of the way. Unfair to the guy scoring knockdown that he has to wait an extra 10 seconds or so to get at his man. I tune in for professional boxing, not The Jack Reiss Show.

What would he need to protect himself from? He answered the count, took steps, he wasn’t “saved by the bell he was up, there was no more risk to allowing the fight to go to the cards.
