Kovalev didn't make a mistake. He knew what he was getting into. He chose the money over the glory. The exact opposite thought process than when he was still undefeated.
Especially with 'life changing money' or perhaps not. Maybe De la Spatula is really lowballing everybody?
Spot on. Also wasnt that long ago when this was not an unusual amount of time in between fights. Now its not enough time for a young guy in his prime coming off a showcase fight? For the biggest opportunity of his career? Idk... I dont get it.
Plenty of rest....ice baths to rejuvinate those muscles and some sun to top up the Vitamin D and he will be good to go again very quickly. Formula One drivers train at the same intensity as boxers and have 20 races a year to do as well as thousands of miles of testing in between races. They also travel between numerous time zones per week. The reason they do not burn out and fatigue is because they have PROPER certified and qualified nutritionists and coaches to help them stay in shape 365 days a year. The "expert nutritionists" in boxing I see are tatted up former steroid abusers or PED experts like Alex Ariza, Victor Conte and Angel Heredia. There is no professional standard being set. If you are an athlete you should be able to go and perform all year around. That's what made Floyd and other true professionals so great.
Can’t blame him, money comes and goes, he shouldn’t chase it. Although it’s strange how boxers these days fight only once or twice a year
I've mixed feelings on this. 1) I think guys at the top should - for the most part - be fighting more often 2) I don't like people bowing down to everything demanded by cash cows
More like Oscar and canelo are terrified and lack the confidence to take on anybody straight up. What a bunch of no pride cowards.
Right?! Why else would everybody lose their collective minds & pass up career paydays of 3-4 times their fight purses?! dude I wish I had a client like that! They typically try to squeeze me for cheaper & cheaper year in - year out.
