After watching the Ramos's I came across this gem. I really enjoyed watching this with all the build up. I didn't really know a lot about this fight apart from Sugar won a split decision. Seems it was pretty controversial. Some great highlight footage from every round and well worth watching. This content is protected
I actually had the same score as you a while back posted. Yours makes us a slightly larger minority here. I also watched this ages ago, but didn't score. A very good, enjoyable fight. I think I though Robertson won, from what I'd seen.
George, scored this just a couple of months back, this is what I wrote. BTW, I also provided a link which has now expired: Sat down and watched the **** Tiger v Henry Hank fight today out of MSG. Terrific fight. No point in tabulating scoring here because I had it 9-0-1 for Tiger, giving only the 8th round even. One might also dispute the 4th round which was very close but I still felt Tiger did enough. Official scores were 8-1-1, 9-0-1 and 10-0. But don't look at the scores and figure it was one-sided, because every round was close. Hank came along in a very competitive and rough era. Today, I would see him with multiple titles. Anyways, enjoy if you can open the link. I would also point out checking out at 40:48 of this link. It was the 10th round and these two exchanged left hooks that made me yell, "Whoooooa!"
Al, I had given Sugar rounds 4, 7, 8 and 9 with the 3rd round even for a 5-4 scorecard for Mando Ramos on the California scoring system. I just thought it was a brilliant fight and with the ebb and flow of this fight it was a toughie to score. No one is wrong in this one.
George, I scored this a while back, but I think it's still valid. Ruben Olivares vs. Alexis Arguello through 12 rounds, California scoring of one point for a winning round and none for an even round. Round 1: Even Round 2: Arguello Round 3: Olivares Round 4: Olivares Round 5: Arguello Round 6: Even Round 7: Olivares Round 8: Olivares Round 9: Olivares Round 10: Olivares Round 11: Olivares Round 12: Olivares Round 13: KO for Arguello Total: 8-2 Olivares through 12 completed rounds Quite amazing the way Olivares at 5'5" put the hurt on the 5'10" Arguello. Walking into that shot in the 13th is a rough way to go when Ruben carried the heavy freight for most of the fight.

Excellent boxing here from Olivares. Good swarming from Hafey, close decision for Olivares was correct. Good to see Rubén come back and avenge the first fight.
Johnny Bratton vs Bobby Dykes Bratton : Dykes R1: KO Brilliant right hand counter to score the first knockdown. Bratton then follows up, smooth yet explosive, for a highlight reel right hand KO. This was an extremely impressive victory over a real good opponent, and Bratton looked very aesthetic whilst in action. This content is protected
Johnny Bratton vs Ike Williams No score, as it is a short clip. From what is seen here, Bratton tries hard, and performs well for a short while, with his usual swagger and awesome movement. However, the great Ike Williams catches up to him and proceeds to fracture his jaw, and then appears to lay a horrendously destructive beating on his game opponent. Bratton is eventually pulled out for his own safety. This content is protected
George, I've scored this twice. here is what I wrote: Ruben Olivares v Art Hafey II I've seen this fight before and I never knew what the beef was on this one. I know Richard Steele's score came under fire but I can see his score. This is California scoring, one point for a round, none for even and an extra point for a knockdown. Round 1: Even Round 2: Olivares Round 3: Olivares Round 4: Olivares Round 5: Olivares Round 6: Olivares Round 7: Olivares Round 8: Even (I think I scored this round even because Art was getting closer and I was getting embarrassed scoring all these for Ruben LOL) Round 9: Olivares Round 10: Hafey (scores a knockdown) Round 11: Hafey Round 12: Olivares Total: 8-3 Olivares I thought Ruben fought a brilliant fight where he turned matador. After getting knocked out by Hafey previously he demonstrated that he wasn't just a banger and he came prepared for this one. He really was so versatile and so very underrated at 126.
About 2 wks to a month ago, I believe it was in this thread that someone mentioned Tony Lopez vs John John Molina 1 (2 and 3 as well) and that they'd watched it in a split file version. I believe the person may've said something about purchasing that fight, or maybe it was the other two fights, and i imagine by now they most likely are not in need of this but, who knows. I spliced, or maybe the correct term would be unspliced, the five pieces the fight was originally upped to YT in. For those who may not know, to change the video quality on YouTube vids click the little gear symbol at bottom right and select quality, this is in 720p, but not as embedded here, must be done manually This content is protected
Watched what I believe was a Nicaraguan documentary on that fight (the segment may've been from a larger doc) not long ago & Arguello says Olivares hurt him repeatedly, almost stopping him at one point

This is a really good fight, pretty hard to score too. Lots of infighting, class shown from both men. I'm not often happy with cuts stoppages, this one was fine though. Castillo was one helluva fighter, tough as old boots as well. It takes a very brave man to take it to Rock-a-bye Rubén head on and come out on top. He was pretty lucky to get that cut though, Rubén(who's pretty quickly becoming one of my favourites) showed he was of a higher class in their trilogy imo.
