True the crazy thing is. Typically fighters before they become multi millionaires fight at least 3 times a year hell canelo used to... when he was hongries.
I agree with this , hey rest 4 weeks , you are already in shape and you'd have 7 weeks preparation. However if Canelo really wants this fight make it towards the end of may, 3 weeks later.
Plant would have 2 weeks to rest if he wants a full (8 week) camp. Since when is 2 weeks time enough to regenerate after a 10 round fight? Clenelo's team knows that Plant has a shitty stamina, they want to weaken him further by offering him to fight on a short notice just like they did with Kovalev, so Plant could ran out of gas in the second half of the fight just like the Russian did. Only difference is that Plant is not desperate enough to take the fight when the deck is massively stacked against him. Alvarez and his team are the cancer of boxing.
This! It's ****ing laughable. At least in Kovalev's case his fight with Yarde was physically punishing. Plant just capped of a 8 week training camp with a glorified spar.
No, yet he was breathing heavily after a few rounds even though he rarely wastes energy, has a selective style. Likely his stamina is naturally bad. And Plant said he had a 3 and half a month camp before his last fight, that must have been grueling. That was a BS offer from Canelo's team, they only wanted publicity with that, nothing else.
I’m far from a Plant fan (except Robert Plant in his LED Zep days of course) but I don’t blame the guy. Fighters often do t like to discuss their injuries or overall condition prior to a fight. He could be dealing with real injuries that need time to heal. Canelo’s team probably knows about this and is rushing to make the fight. He’s talented for sure but always tries to get an advantage beyond the obvious PED and judging advantages he carries into fights. You really don’t know if Plant is having hand issues or undisclosed injuries that might take a few months to heal before he can train at 100%. He’s not an old guy fighting for a quick and final payday like Kov. If Canelo is serious, I’m sure this fight will be there for him later in the year. Why doesn’t Canelo try to get a Benavidez fight instead? That would be a good one, as would Benavidez Plant. BJS is there as well. That fight doesn’t excite me as much as Canelo BJS at 160 but neither guy is at 160 these days so it looks like SMW is more likely.
They havent given any opponent an even break since they got together with Bob Bennett ,the NSAC & Vegas boxing. They know Canelo needs the "support" Nsac & Vegas give him
He means exactly what he said. No one cares that Kovalev looked absolutely dreadful against Canelo, that he was nearly knocked out a couple months prior, that he didn't have sufficient recovery time, or that he signed a rehydration clause. The media only states they he scored a sensational knockout against the larger ko artist.
why did he do a 14 week training camp to fight that german in the first place?6-8 week is what a training camp should beq
Tell me about it. Fighters back then used to have 10 fights or more a year in the 40s and 50s. Now we'd be lucky to see someone fight 4x a year. I feel like fighters now have just gotten soft. Won't be surprised if Plant fights again just once more this year.
Saying No to Canelo is like hiding the kitchen utensils from Oscar after his second line...It’s a good thing and seldom happens Let Plant take a rest as he is still young and has no need to chase Big Red
YDKSAB Erik Morales kicked Pacquiao's ass three months after his loss in a brutal war with Barrera. Canelo Alvarez moved up in weight and fought a big SMW three months after his war with Golovkin. Andy Ruiz fought Anthony Joshua less than two months after his fight with Dimitrenko. Manny Pacquiao fought Ledwaba for the IBF after fighting two other fighters within four months.
