Just making my next video 'Ricky Hatton 5 in 5'. Whilst studying the Collazo fight I was shocked with how little he actually did! I remember it being an awkward, stop start type of affair but I genuinely think he lost that fight!
Hatton defo lost this but Collazo should have taken it out of the judges' hands. As the B side fighter he was never going to get a decision.
At the time, I had it a draw, but that was with a Hatton bias. I would need to see it again, but Collazo probably should have got it by at least 115-113.
I had it to Hatton, at the time, by a round. I thought he just about shaded it on work rate but he took a hammering in was it round 8? Was a massive Hatton fan at the time though so would need to watch it again but the writing was on the wall in that fight that he wasn't a 147lber and as ever he struggled with a leftie.
Just rewatching now, if Collazo had any sort of power he would have had Hatton down a couple of times in rounds 2 and 4. Scored it again and got 114-113 Hatton. I gave Ricky the 2nd but it was close with both men dominating half of the round. Hatton landed a big right at the end so that swung the round his way imo. 3rd could have gone either way also. Close fight
I watched it in my local at daft o clock in the morning and he got abit of a gift really... He was out on his feet at one point and collazo should've finished the job... Personally think Ricky should've stayed at 140 his whole career.. That 7 pound jump took away his biggest strength
