I think Chisora 2 , Hammer and Wlad was when Fury was at his best and showed significant improvement from his fights prior to this and hasnt looked anywhere near this standard on his return. Certainly more hittable now compared to then as seen in the Wallin fight.
It's the biggest HW since December and the last fight between the two was a snooze fest untill the final 3 rounds.
I'm enjoying Bunce and Costello's podcasts leading up to this fight. Well worth a listen yesterday for the Andy Lee and Sugar Hill segment in particular.
First fight came on again last night so I had a gander. When you watch the first fight you can only see one winner in the rematch. Fury dealth with Wilder so easily for so much of the fight. We know Fury went down but he rides the shots so well that it'll be hard for Wilder to completely ice him. Can't wait for Saturday!!
I am not sure that boxing is for you !? First fight was great throughout with the added drama in the latter rounds.
I didnt think the fight was entertaining i the first 9 rounds, certainly not many punches landed. All the following fights last year at HW were more entertaining: Whyte vs Rivas Hunter vs Povetkin Martin vs Kownacki Ruiz vs AJ 1 Ortiz vs Wilder 2 Fury vs Wallin Rivas vs Jennings Arreola vs Kownacki Hunter vs Kuzmin
No question over Fury's superiority as a boxer. Big question over the cut though. Will Fury be able to go in close and rough WIlder up without that cut reopening? He won't get the same easy ride he got in the Wallin fight. Another cut like that and Wilder will get a decision. I tend to disregard most of the stuff that comes out of the camp, but maybe looking to engage more could be a result of not trusting the cut over 12 rounds.
Suspect Jaw? OK, granted he has been put on his arse, but never knocked out so cant agree with that We must have very different definitions of suspect jaw if getting knocked down is how you sum it up Regarding the Otto fight, until a fighter steps up how can we tell how good he is ? Otto might turn out to be a solid top 10 or 15 guy long term Just because he was low ranked at the time, bear in mind how early it in is his career and how much time is potentially left
I class suspect jaw as guys who have history of being being knocked down by low level opponents (such as Cunningham, Pjakic, Sconiers, Nichols) not just knocked out. Going on the eye test with Wallin but I am confident that any of the top 20 guys beat him and he wil never be a top fighter. Wallin lost a few rounds to Granat, a guy that Dimitrenko KO'ed in the first round. Time will tell when or if he steps up he class where he really is.
Your point being? I just don't see potential in a fighter that gets taken the distance by an opponent that was KOed in the 1st round by Dimitrenko.
