    That's correct.

The best summary of Brexit that I've seen is what answer you'd expect from the man in the street to the question 'explain the long, medium and short term impacts on the UK economy if the UK operated outside the EU Customs Union and instead under the WTO.'

You'd get nothing but blank stares from 99%+ of the population including me, but that's what you're asking them. I seem to be the only person I've ever met who holds their hands up about Brexit and admits that, you know what, I don't know much if anything about macroeconomics, international trade and so on. So I have to go on what the experts say, much like I do if I need my car fixed, or if I need to get somewhere on a plane, or need surgery. And they nearly all seem to be saying, broadly, that it'll be bad.

All this 'take the country back' stuff makes me laugh. It's simple populism dressed up as soundbites. I don't have a clue how they get these people so scared of the EU. It's basically a trading organisation. I saw someone who worked in Sunderland Nissan crying with joy on Brexit day. Literally in tears of happiness. He said he didn't care if the whole plant shut down; he was just so happy to no longer be in the EU. It seemed so strange.

Please people don’t be naive. Tyson has zero intention of standing and banging with Wilder, and won’t be looking for the early KO.
Add it to the list of things he’s said that have been complete bollocks!

So we’re supposed to support someone just because they happen to come from somewhere relatively near to where we’re from?

I’m not supporting Fury because I don’t enjoy his style, he’s a drug cheat and I don’t like his personality. In the heavyweight division there’s nothing I like more than a killer, and that’s exactly what Wilder is.

It’s the same as all those people that moan about English people not supporting that miserable ‘runt’ Andy Murray. We’re all entitled to back who we like without it being based on some garbage vision of national pride or patriotism.

    Ah. An intellectual powerhouse appears.

If you can explain the positives I'm all ears. You just have to avoid 'we get to make our own laws,' (which we already had been doing for years), 'we get to control immigration' (which we could do as well) and 'it's about sovereignty' (which doesn't mean anything.) If you like you can also add 'we survived the war so we'll survive this,' no doubt failing to see that you're making a comparison between what is supposed to be an economic boost to the nation and being in an actual war. Although, being an upper-middle class ponce, please don't try to tell me that we make some genuinely good fizz for when the champagne import costs kick in, because I'll tell you right now, we don't.

Thus far the benefits seem to be that we can start encouraging retired people to work as fruit pickers and if you like blue over burgundy things will be that little bit more enjoyable in the long airport queues you now get to stand in. Fingers crossed I'm wrong...

See now you are maiking presumptions, nation pride isn't a dirty concept and im very much of an old school mold for the most part.

Boxing is a relatively small game so to really enjoy it you need to look worldwide. Ive just never felt teh need to support a boxer because he is British. My favourite boxers who i have 'supported' have nearly all been british for whatever reason, mainly due to ease of access, but i havent felt obliged to support them. Give me Loma over Campbell anyday of the week.

I get what you mean about having all the belts in the UK, as i have a vested intrest in British Boxng, buts lets be honest Fury v Joshua wont happen in the UK.

Its not a poll about who you 'support' rather than who you think will win.

I want Fury but see Wilder doing the job this time.

When you characterise the EU as, " basically a trading organisation" , you really aren't best qualified to assume the position of an intellectual superior to even the lowliest knuckledragging Tyson Fury fan.

Everyone gets there in the end, albeit I would like to point up I didn't bring up Brexit in this thread.

Back to the subject at hand, I think Wilder stops him. There are just too many red flags in my opinion. The length of time since Fury was getting his face stitched back together is ridiculous. If this promotion had Tyson's welfare in mind they'd delay it until May and do a proper press tour so he can heal up and have a proper training camp. Are we really expected to believe that only twelve weeks after having 47 stitches in his face that Tyson was able to start a full training camp?

Plus the change of trainer and the two pointless fights in between. Wilder's haven't been that much better, but they have been better. He's been in with Fury now and no doubt thinks he's gone some way to working out the style. Yes Tyson did well to get up but he's clearly hittable.

I also think Tyson just doesn't do enough to clearly pull away in rounds. He landed seven punches a round against Wilder last time on average. Wilder landed six. That's just not a masterclass. Go and look at cards like Canelo Mayweather, or even Mayweather McGregor. Judges will give rounds to guys who are maybe not landing loads but are at least having a go. And that's not sticking your tongue out and flapping around.

I think Fury's cut opens in the first half of the fight and Wilder stops him in the second with Fury slightly ahead.

It was far more impressive to see him dictating the pattern of a round, showboating and sticking his tongue out after making his opponent miss than watching Wilder punching thin air.

    Not everyone appreciates quality though.

I’d be surprised if wilder went in with no respect for fury, he’s likely to get stopped himself if he did that. It’s not like he wasn’t hurt himself by some Fury counters, even after Fury was dropped.

I can see wilder landing a KO punch but I’m still sticking with Fury going for a safer victory, a shut out. His continual talk of going for the KO confirms this for me, there is absolutely no chance Fury will do what he says he will.
