Spinks wasn't **** at heavyweight? 30 rounds with Holmes isn't at all impressive to you?

Spinks had 4 fights at heavyweight. 3 against shot opponents. 2 of which he arguably lost. The one time he faced a primed heavy, he didn't even make it into the triple digits in seconds! To call him unproven is an understatement.

So Holmes was shot? Tell that to Ray Mercer, Oliver McCall and Evander Holyfield who all fought Holmes years later and either lost to him or had difficult moments with him. Remember Spinks was a big lightheavyweight and Marciano and Charles were not much bigger when they fought at heavyweight in their era. Spinks beat all kinds of different styles Like Qawi, Muhammad Holmes etc. His adaptability would serve him well in this tournament.

Holmes shot, anyone who says different isn't worth arguing with. The person is a moron. And Holmes won the second fight easily.

Alright, just because you are kind of funny I am going to let you off the hook. Even though you don't know **** about boxing I kind of like you. You are dead wrong about Holmes being completely shot. Was he passed his prime yes, but so was Spinks. Holmes went on to fight some pretty good fights at a high level while Spinks and his gimpy knees cashed out against Cooney and Tyson.

Stop with the narrative that Marciano was a true heavyweight. The heavyweights of the 50's are the lightheavyweight's /Cruiserweight's of today. Spinks could handle strong guys like Qawi and Mustafa and big skilled heavyweights like Holmes. He would do well against the guys listed.

One more time, watch Holmes against Mercer and Holyfield which was years after the Spinks fights and tell me he was shot. You are wrong! Let's see if you are man enough to admit it.

He´d win Holmes 1, Holmes 2 was very close. Cooney? Last time I checked, feared Foreman beat this "dangerous fellow", but if its 3 years before the booze, he is shot again
Wanna pair your #1 Liston opp. (Williams) against this Holmes two times ?

Regarding the tournament: Prime Walcott might be very close for Rocky, but I don´t see Charles beating him. Imho this might be close between Spinks, Walcott and Rocky. Patterson might do very well against Spinks matching him in speed, so he´s not so far off here.
In contrast to H2H top ten HWs, I wouldn´t make Rocco a household favorite against this fellows in their prime, non beeing 38 years of age.

You are right. I lost my cool and can admit when I am wrong. Being called a moron by that guy pissed me off. I have spent my whole life boxing and can get pretty passionate about it. Not making excuses for saying that but I get annoyed with how some put that 49-0 up on such a pedestal. I can acknowledge Rocky's greatness but he was far from unbeatable. I sometimes wonder if he is on that pedestal by some on here for the wrong reason.

Those fights say more about Holyfield and Mercer that they couldn't get a 42 year old Holmes outta there. A 30 year old Holmes beats the he11 out of both of them.

There is a lot of fairly even match ups here, I'd like to see Marciano vs Schmeling . I don't think Spinks fairs very well. As to who comes out on top? Rocky probably but I think he'd lose a fight to one of these guys. I know, I know blasphemy right.
