He also told us every day for thirteen months that the rematch wasn't really a big fight. He repeatedly told us the first fight did "relatively poor business" and that he couldn't see how the rematch would be much bigger. I repeat, every day for thirteen months we had to read that bitter nonsense. The man is absolutely seething this week, a week that all fight fans are buzzing whether they're pro fury, pro Wilder or neutral and his seethe is making fight week all the more enjoyable! I'll have no complaints if Fury loses because I'm only 50% confident he'll win. A KO at any time won't surprise me and if it happens, Deontay Wilder will rightfully be crowned ring magazine champion.
We all know Tony doesnt actually like boxing, he is just interested in the PPV numbers and how much people earn. I dont have a clue if this fight will do well over there or not but they have been trying to get Fury over for a while now. Im still not sure how the PPV wil be counted considering its on ESPN also? Surley that will just skew the numbers?
My pick is Wilder before the end of the 10th. With Fury to do the Funky Gibbon on the ropes preferably. The Wallin bout was an eye-opener tbh, for all sorts of reasons. I'm not buying all the weight drama narratives for it. These are super HW's we're talking about, not lightweights, and it's not as if Fury is some shredded Ken Norton type - he has kilos of excess flab. One minute Davison is a 25-year-old Cus d'Amato, after one shocker all of a sudden he's a glorified gym instructor. Which is it? It's no secret that I believe the draw was a good call first time out. When Fury engaged and gained points, he got sat on his ass and back. Prior to that he was hitting air and forearms, (as was Wilder in fairness). I personally can't see a magic new version of Fury turning up. One who can get close enough, land himself and avoid getting hurt or reinjuring the eye. That last factor is crucial. In fact, if it hadn't been for the Wallin cut, I'd be inclined to see it as much more 50/50. This content is protected
