Ali was clearly stronger in the clinches to me, there power was about even but the styles they had changed the outcome of fights more then anything Larry seemed to sit on punches more.

Holmes had the heavier jab and uppercut. Ali, when he came off his toes and leaned forward into it, had the heavier right hand.

I should also mention, Ali had the better left hook and by a good margin. Larry's hook was most of the time just there.

Holmes certainly punched harder than Fury (check the stats)...I don't see them getting compared. Ali hit about the same amount of strength as Fury in the 60s, but the former was so much faster and overall better that too is a ridiculous comparison.

Fury will get his Saturday, and I'll be so relieved to see him go. No offense to fans, but to me Deontay is poised on greatness today.

I've always thought Ali was the superior physical specimen in all areas(bar jab), I'd say he hits slightly harder. Neither were devastating though.

I'd say both were weaker punchers than Holyfield.

Holmes. But young Ali had more snap imho than the lay-off-version, and came more aggressive.

Larry had a heavier Jab - Ali had a more sharper faster cutting Jab - Ali had a better right hand and a left hook to add - combo speed Ali - Holmes had a better uppercut - Ali had the tougher more versatile opposition to gauge
