And this jackass George leaps up on the ropes pounding his fist in the air and on his chest screaming out, "what's my name?" Zero shame.
This robbery happened in Sloan Iowa, the same place Thomas Mattice got his gift win over Zhora Hamazaryan. Are all the judges on meth there? Christ!

ME : JG 1. 10 : 9 2. 9 : 10 3. 10 : 9 4. 10 : 9 5. 9 : 10 (49-46) 6. 10 : 9 7. 10 : 9 8. 10 : 9 9. 9 : 10 10. 10 : 9 ( This content is protected ) Rounds 2&5 were decently close/fairly competitive. Fun fight, really high workrate. Absolutely shambolic decision. I hope Marcos gets him in the rematch, which I'll make sure to try and catch. In round 2 I had a 25 second ad, followed by a 30 second, this happened repeatedly and I wanted to smite my phone.
Word is George might have gotten the nod because his manager (some kind of star active NFL player, a tackle I think, name of Trent Williams) had the clout to make sure he'd get the nod if he saw the final bell. So, unless Marquitos finds a big eraser, his dreams of revenge might be dashed and he might end up with a 2 in the L column where it should read zero..
Here's my card after a second viewing. Escudero vs George Round 1: Escudero Round 2: George Round 3: George Round 4: Escudero Round 5: George Round 6: Escudero Round 7: Escudero (*) Round 8: Escudero Round 9: George Round 10: Escudero (*) *Denotes swing rounds. 96-94 Escudero. I had this a draw in November, since I generally loathe the idea of orgasming over ineffective work-rate (and a lot of Escudero;s workrate was inaccurate). But some of Escudero's flurries did get through and allow him to control the pace, so you have to give him credit for that. I can see why the judges liked George's more eye-catching shots, and can still see a path to a narrow George victory if you stretch...But Escudero's ring generalship overcame George's defense in enough rounds for him to secure the win on my card on this viewing. Dubious decision...But more petty larceny imo, rather than grand theft.
Round 1. Escudero 10-9 Round 2. George 10-9 very close Round 3. George 10-9 very close Round 4 Escudero 10-9 Round 5. Escudero 10-9 Round 6. Escudero 10-9 Round 7. Escudero 10-9 Round 8. Escudero 10-9 Round 9. George 10-9 Round 10. Escudero 10-9 Escudero 97-93 I gave George 2 and 3 because I thought he landed the better work in both rounds but only JUST got the nod for me on those rounds which could easily have gone to Escudero as well. Other than that it really wasn't that close a fight. I feel I was being rather kind to George with my scorecard too.
Everyone who gave George the second, what's wrong with you? At least some credit goes to you @Inglis_1 for denoting it as very close. You other two, huh?
Well Chris. Since we all can't be perfect, we just have to sit here and wallow in our uneducated verdicts. I gave it him coz I thought that George's lesser volume was much more efficient in that he landed cleaner, whilst Marcos sorta grazed his shots.
Yeah I had a long think about it. Honestly it could have gone either way and I see no problem with it going Escudero's way. I only gave it to George because I thought he landed the BETTER work throughout the round, same as round 3. 97-93 was the absolute best George could have hoped for imo which I gave. 98-92 and 99-91 were also equally as fair scores imo.
I think that held true in Rounds 3 and 5, too, Quality over quanity in those frames. Plus, George was able to work from ring center for longer periods of time in those rounds, too. And when the bout was waged there, that favored JG. Close frames, both...depends on what you like.
Honestly this match is the biggest attraction by far of the whole triple-header, for me. Luis Neri vs. Aarón Alameda may be the nominal main event but nothing in El Tigre's perfect yet heavily padded record on the Mexican domestic scene has prepped him to step in with Pantera. IDGAF about Wallin vs. Browne - not one solitary F.
Round 1 Escudero is blocking George's initial high straight flurries, thrown somewhat lazily as George lollygags his way inside. Escudero now stuffing the jab in George's face and making him either give up ground or dive in to clinch. Escudero is doubling up on hooks bashing into the guard as he backs George into the ropes and then lathering up long contiguous sequences of fast jabs and piston rights. 10-9 Escudero
Round 2 Escudero is doubling his jab out and overreaching past the backside of George, who ducks in and grabs briefly, then lets go with a shove. George barking and slinging underhanded body combos, making some contact, but a lot of it on Escudero's outer hips, too low to score legally. Escudero scoring jabs sallying forth, drifting to his left just enough to get a sharp angle passing George's right glove to land on his left cheek. Escudero keeping George trapped on the ropes and slicing with short-range uppercuts. George throws low round-houses with both hands into the waist attempting to free himself. Escudero tags George with light jabs and flurries and gets him on the ropes once more. George slugs a left into the chest and then a right into Escudero's throat, but not budging him. Escudero keeping tight pressure and then following George when he runs to another set of ropes, stamping the jab into his forehead. 10-9 Escudero 20-18 Escudero
