So both weigh in significantly heavier than last time, 273 v 231. My head tells me this is looking bad for Fury. I've long had doubts he's got one last big hurrah in the tank, suspecting his comeback fight against Wilder was in truth his be all and redemption. Throw in the WWE distractions, the change of trainer, the cuts, the rumours of injury and the weight gain. All logic tells me Wilder will starch him this time out. But my heart and my romantic side is telling me Fury is going to write another insane chapter in his rollercoaster career, possibly the greatest instalment so far. I don't think his approach has to be so different from the first fight, despite the weight gain. He carries weight well and can still move and outbox Wilder from the outside. What I think we'll see Is more variety, including unexpected (though risky) moves to the inside to lean on and sap Wilder. He can do some damage on the inside and if he does get Wilder tired and makes it to the latter rounds we could then see Fury sit down on his punches and light up Wilder. The cut of course could change everything. I suspect Fury's ready to go for broke if it opens up to the extent it did against Wallin. I'm no great fan of Wilder, primarily because of his pimp wardrobe and cringeworthy 'bomb squad' screams, but if he gets Fury out of there he'll deserve all the credit and respect coming his way. After all, no-one else has done it. This fight could still go to the cards but I wouldn't bet on it. If it does go the distance it's likely to have been brutal in any case. Realistically though, someone's getting knocked out. My head tells me it's Fury who'll fall like a giant redwood in the desert. My heart tells me Fury is going to prove the World and I wrong for the umpteenth time.
Well this is completely the opposite to what Ben Davison had wanted - ie Fury coming in light, being mobile and fast (but weak as a kitten according to John and Shane). A heavy Fury can only be looking to hold his range, hit, clinch and lean all over Wilder. At 31, 6’9 and after an awful lifestyle the herky jerky style wasn’t going to age well so this was always a likely evolution. Perhaps not evolution so much but more a reversion back to the original Fury?
Body fat wise he looks the same as every fight since the first Wilder, from what I’ve seen on Instagram. He’s got significantly heavier and au don’t see how he’s packed that on in 7 weeks.
That episode of 'The Gloves Are Of' will never be bettered. Froch did something I never thought would happen and absolutely brutalised Groves mentally. Dare I say it, I found it more entertaining than the actual rematch.
His career average has been against everyone by definition, which would naturally include a litany of total no hopers who he’d beat regardless. Against Abell and Seferi he was fat. He’s around that weight now. You know you’re wrong.
No as he is not fat. If he plans on boxing on outside he is too heavy, if he plans to fight alot in inside he is a good weight.
Got a very bad feeling for Fury’s chances tonight, see Wilder winning in quick time, I hope I’m wrong.
Look at this ejit. Fury and his team told us two months ago he was coming in at 19 stone. You weren't listening, because you never listen to anything Fury, his team or BT sport say. You make it all up in your head.
It may all be mind games and part of an elaborate master plan, but the most likely reason for Fury weighing significantly heavier and keeping his shirt on, is that he isn’t in great shape. If you go with the most obvious explanation, you’ll be right more often than not. This doesn’t look good for Fury. I don’t think he’s going to get through 12 rounds without getting clipped.
I think there is. Fury has stated numerous times he’s changing his approach cos he can’t win fighting like last time and he’s right.
Yup wilder was quoted on rogabs podcast as sayimg no matter what he did he couldnt put on the extra weight, then this fight bang 14lbs and still looks very lean. Just how does one pack on that extra 14lbs and still remain lean? I wonder...... Fury aint the only onw on the gear
