Breland knows his stuff. I like Mark. But also Steward would have been good. As Mark was.. Mark is actually a good choice.. He was tall and rangy. Breland reminded most people of Thomas Hearns, yet he was not as strong physically. he was about the same height, but his reach was a little less.
Very well said, Wilder is not only extremely athletic, but well skilled also, it's like some people don't want to see it and want to keep going on about how he is a "bum" or "windmill" or whatever.
There’s only so much you can do with just relying on your power. At some point the power WILL NOT bail you out. I think Wilder is lucky to be blessed with ungodly power but it’s such a damn shame that he has a style that is one dimensional. He’s skilled in his own, non-traditional way but one can only imagine how much better he would be if he was taught to fight like Hearns or McClellan.
The commentary literally wouldn’t shut up about how Wilder trained his left hook, last night. You know, the same left hook that kept scoring to Ortiz’ body and even stunned him? I keep bringing it up but people here seem to want to ignore that he’s made any sort of improvement at all. Gee, I wonder why.
it is possible....but not probable. it gets late in the game to change things. especially fundamentals. it is like muscle memory. unlearning something is harder than learning something. under pressure and you will tend to revert to what you know.
no, to old. His muscle reflex and punch instincts are set at mid 30s. Boxers at this age would work on improving on something they already decent at like a hook. Work on improving hooking to the body. Wilder only has the right to the head.
No. Wilder is too stubborn and imo lacks the boxing iq and the coordination to change. Heres to hoping he proves me wrong.
