Yes he probably has a cracked eardrum and that really ended his fight. He took good shots from Fury but the way people were talking you'd think it was a Luis Resto situation. I don't think he suffered a career threatening injury and I think he'll go back to fighting poor opposition and KO'ing people again. Bayless though...Jesus. couldn't be more transparent he was Wilders guy. It was ridiculous. Every clinch Fury had the upper hand (which was most) Bayless jumps in immediately. When Wilder had the upoer hand it was all "work it out". At one point Fury appears to have the upper hand, Bayless immediately goes to break it up, then Wilder lands a shot and Bayless backs off with a "Work it out" until Fury gets the upper hand. Awful, blatant stuff.
And the point deduction was just ridiculous & unjustified Fury was correct, he had to stop Wilder or get robbed AGAIN!
He was not about to get robbed. All 3 judges gave Fury every round except 1 judge gave Wilder the 2nd. (the other 2 gave it to Fury)
Dropped twice, down several times, bleeding from the face and ears, out on his feet, and his corner threw the towel in. He got a beating lad, his corner did the right thing, he was taking to much damage and only going to get seriously hurt.
I hope he takes all the time in the world to rest up and recover. Forget about the immediate rematch with Fury for now
Why that surprise you ? They gave him a good amount of time to recover against Ortiz as well, otherwise he would have been KOed there as well. The referee was paid to help Wilder in the ring, that was 10000000000% obvious. He does not allow any inside fighting at all, because Wilder is s**** there. O dear the only thing that Wilder have is the ring hand, he can`t even throw a proper combination. He has no timing, none at all.
I agree, and you really can't blame the ref for stopping it since the towel was technically thrown and the doctor was walking up to the ring. Though I will say that was probably the weakest "throwing in the towel" I've ever seen. His corner barely even threw the towel up in the air, and it was done all on the outside of the ring. I don't think anyone even knew that the corner threw the towel until it was seen on replay minutes later. If you're going to throw in the towel, then I wanna see the corner literally climb up to the apron and throw the towel inside of the ring so everyone can see it. It was weird though because the ref seemed like he was about to stop anyway just based on the sustained attack by Fury with Wilder in the corner. And even weirder the actual moment he stepped in to call it off was right after Wilder landed a decent left hook.
I was reading a newspaper in which it was said Wilder has reported eardrum and lip busted plus a concussion. Fury destroyed him.
He was beaten, but I think his corner threw in the towel before any career altering beating happened. No doubt the fight should have been stopped, Deontay had no balance. My point was that he didn't get a beatdown or Paul Williams or Manny Pacquiao type of career changing beating. He got thoroughly beat, but I just feel from what eveeyone was writing that Deontay had brain damage or something.
He didnt get brain damage because it was stopped at the right time. He was badly beat up, simply covering up sitting in the corner. If the ref, corner, and doctor all wanted to stop the fight at the same time, maybe you should ask why. Hes lucky he has a guy like Mark Breland in his corner, bleeding from the ears is a scary injury, he should be going to hospital to make sure its not coming from his brain.
He was out on his feet from the time he was dropped and was stumbling around the ring for the rest of the fight. The fight was so one sided I cant see how anyone could not see the fight as a beat down. It was like watching a pro vs Joe.
Burst ear drum, suspected broken jaw, with the amount of blood coming out of his mouth id say will have a few dental issues. Ya he took a hiding
