Will Wilder fans drop interest in his career? We shall see. I’d like to see him in there again vs a top ten opponent in his prime.
People like undefeated fighters once they lose, a big section of their fan base leaves. The same will happen to Wilder, but I bet he will keep a good amount of his fans.
I think he takes the rematch. There will be a narrative constructed to explain the defeat. Discombobulation from blow to the back of head (oh the irony)? Hardcore fans will run with this. He takes some but not all of those fans into the rematch.
Edwin Valero definitely an ATG (more so than many popular ATGs), but writers/fans don't want to mention him in any positive way due to his non-boxing life, despite being an Undefeated champion in two division & 100% KO ratio. The most popular ATGs lost & always came back stronger, for all we know Deontay Wilder can get into high stamina punchers shape at 210s, KO Fury in a dynamic rubber match, KO Joshua effortlessly & easily move down to Cruiser-weight, holds belts in both divisions & retire as the GOAT
Drop him? Maybe throw in the towel... But, that's the exact same thing what happened to part of the Joshua fanbase, and will eventually happen to part of the Fury fanbase when he gets his first (official) loss.
Wilders fans are.mostly american and they like to.throw fighters under the bus when.they let them down. As soon as wilder is out of hospital they will be waiting with said bus
I just want him to shut the hell up about how great he is finally, lol Hopefully he will. No more comparing himself to Ali. Freaking tool. I hated the way he took so long before finally fighting Fury in his first real fight. A disgrace and those that disagree should be horsewhipped.
Not I. While I am always disappointed in Wilders lack of ability, he showed the heart of a true warrior imo, and I'll be supporting him until he retires.
