60 40 Tyson now , all day AJ for flattened by a fat Mexican two fights ago Certainly ain't 50/50 How the tables have turned since Eddie tried lowballing Fury
I don’t like getting into discussions about splits but indeed this is true. Fury is clearly the more accomplished fighter now and actually KO’d his opponent. He is way bigger in America. Unfortunately the fight will probably be roadblocked by disputes about the lion’s share of the purse split so really the pair of them should agree to this: - 50/50 for a draw - 70/30 to the winner by KO - 60/40 to the winner by decision with a rematch at 50/50 But egos and all that will **** it up.
50/50 fight in my opinion. Anyone who says 60/40, either way, is biased to either side and the first fighter to come out and say 60/40 is ducking IMO.
I get it Fury's just won and everyone's high on him but I will be extremely surprised if Fury has ever matched AJ in terms of purses. AJ also paved the way to Saudi for a $50M dollar rights fee, and whether we like it or not this fight will take place in Saudi for a $100M rights fee. Let the first fight be 50/50 and the winner takes the lions share in a rematch - The only fair way in my opinion and i just want to see the fight, no messing about.
Fury’s certainly made his case but once everyone has calmed down they’ll probably realise Joshua is still a major draw and generates a lot of money. They weren’t chucking the sort of money they threw at the Ruiz rematch for a laugh.
**** off with the money stuff lads. 50/50, end of story. Fury's fight tonight looks certain to have generated over 2 million ppv buys between America and UK. He's a major player in UK and US now but AJ is a superstar in his own right and has been for years. Let's talk about the potential fight and for me, Fury does the same job on AJ as he did against Wilder. AJ ain't got the gas tank or chin to hang with 270 pound Wilder. He has a punchers chance but Fury showed an excellent chin tonight. Wilder hit him a clean right hand in round 1 that would've ended most heavyweights including AJ.
I don’t think Wilder ever hit him clean to be honest. Tyson took everything on his arms, gloves or was able to move and massively lessen the impact of what little got through.
In fairness though, Hearn was always going to be negative about Fury as he's AJ's promoter. He needs to retain AJ's standing in the UK so is acting in the best interests of his client. It's not an outrageous prediction to say he thought Wilder would win. I thought Wilder would win and I'm a Fury fan! Same applies to Haye. I just hope Fury and Joshua can get made. Really can't be bothered for months of debates on 'splits'. Just get it done, hopefully in the UK.
Ideally UK but secondly if it has to happen I’d rather it be somewhere convenient for UK fans to watch. As good as that fight was it’s always better if it’s Saturday night rather than Sunday morning.
