You couldn't have wrote a better script than what has happened in the heavyweight division since Fury returned.

If they don't make the undisputed fight now it will be the biggest travesty in boxing history, especially from a British perspective.

The numbers talked about for a Fury AJ fight previously were 70/30 in favour of AJ. Warren said they would be happy with 50/50 and make the fight no problem but realistically now, team Fury could stsrt demanding the lions share of the purse. I hope financialsndont block the fight!

Fury probably destroys AJ in the first 6 rounds if he fights like he did tonight. AJ woukdnt have a clue and get battered from pillar to post.

I wonder what happens next. Can't wait for an hour long Hearn special on IFL, he'll be talking utter b#ll#cks as always.

They are both good fighters and should fight each other but it is indeed really amusing to see how the narrative has shifted.

For years Joshua fanatics have slated Fury on the basis that Joshua is the KO artist who fights more excitingly and they always cited the Klitschko fights to support this argument.

Now in the two respective rematches against Ruiz and Wilder, we’ve seen Joshua fight an extremely conservative and boring win against an overweight short Mexican and we’ve seen Fury go balls to the wall attack-mode against the most dangerous puncher alive in a KO victory.

    Just said the same thing

Make Hearn beg if he even wants it

Tyson is the superstar nowz AJ was falling all over MSG two fights ago at the hands of a fat Mexican on a few weeks notice

We all are now clear who the real undisputed heavyweight champ is. They are Fury's belts that got taken off him , he's never lost them

AJ will put the weight back on for Fury and gas out. Fury is the only real superheavyweight with a 12 round engine. Stoppage win for Fury in a similar performance to tonight.

Fury fights like that and it's over in 3 or 4 rounds. Wilder has a better chin than Joshua.

Does AJ vs Fury seem almost like a mismatch now? Considering the way Fury won the second fight and the way Fury completely out boxed Wilder in the first fight as well as Joshua's obvious flaws, it seems a bit like a mismatch imo.

There is still the matter of a 3rd fight between Wilder and Fury. I know its signed and Wilder will exercise the rematch.

I think the rematch happens before Fury is free to face anyone else. Also after such a great win, will Fury want to fight on? Perhaps Fury retires after this win rather than face a rematch of face AJ. He has spoken of his desire to retire early.

Fury is now the MAN. The number 1.

Fury v AJ would be huge in britain, just huge

Ideal is for Fury to beat up Wilder again in rematch and for AJ to get some impressive wins, then Fury and AJ meet

Joshua and fury were always 1 and 2 for a few years.

And that's what they are to me 1 and 2. I don't put them in order. These two are clearly the best in the division and they must fight to determine number 1.

AJ has a loss but he has also the better resume overall.

Wilder isnt even number 3 imo, I'd say whyte is number 3.

To be fair poor old whyte is going to be left out in the cold for a couple of years now. Wilder and AJ will be ahead of him for fury.

Not sure why more is needed to be honest. I get why Joshua will fight in the next few months; he’s not going to wait from December to September for the fight to happen, plus Pulev like it or not is a mandatory. But that’s all. No point delaying for a year.

Yeah, talk before of this being ‘obviously the top two.’

Really? Wilder makes the top two on the basis of beating Ortiz whilst Joshua is outside having beaten Klitschko, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz and Povetkin?

I'm just glad wilder has been exposed at last. People were talkin about him being number 1 or 2 without ever fighting a live opponent. Not only that there was talk of him being an ATG lol.

Just happy the myth got busted because it was delusional.

I would fancy Fury to beat AJ, but he’ll work out the best game plan to beat Joshua, both before and during the fight. He may approach it completely differently than against Wilder. It may be bullrushing, it may be stick and move, it may be exploit Joshua’s weakness to the body.

Joshua has a chance though. He can match up physically with Fury, is the harder puncher, and showed mental strength and versatility to get around the Ruiz problem. I just suspect that Fury will have him on the back foot mentally by the time they even set foot in the ring.

AJ can compete with Fury's weight but he can't compete with his engine. He needs to ice Fury in the first six rounds and I don't think that's possible with the way Fury rides every shot and recovers miraculously when caught. Bad, bad matchup for AJ.

Fury is the much more proven 12 round performer, but I don't think AJ's stamina is as bad as sometimes claimed. His body shuts down when he is hurt, but otherwise he has got through the championship rounds ok a few times. He kept on his bike for 12 in the rematch with Ruiz, which many thought he was incapable of.

That said, very difficult to pick against Fury based on last night's performance. As well as that, in terms of mindgames it is a mismatch. In my view most of the pre-fight talk is hot air and pretty meaningless, but Fury is one of the few who can actually gain an edge with it. He'd have Joshua on a string before the first bell rings.
