Because his hooks and uppercuts are weaker than his straight right.

So many people in this forum are just clueless.
Wilder can crack, he has one shot pop to stop any fighter if he lands flush, Fury just has to be given
credit here though, he used his size and know how fully to his advantage.
I had my doubts whether Fury could carry the 271 lbs he on him for the long haul of a fight.
His fight plan to take the fight to Wilder was spot on, he pressed Wilder using his timing and skillset to get off.
His strategy to clinch and use his forearms and gloves to maul Wilder's upper body and head was nothing short of magnificent.
Fury was to heavy to use his legs to spring away from Wilder's return fire so instead he just used his big frame outweighing Wilder by 40 pounds to just maul and lean on Wilder on the inside.
Had Fury used movement it would have been him fatigueing, but because he used his size to lean on and maul Wilder, it was Wilder who wore down.

Just have to give credit to the better fighter, even the times Wilder landed, Fury was taking the power away by either riding away from the punch or smothering it on the inside altogether. Fury just put together a magnificent game plan that not just any ordinary fighter can follow through on.

Congrats to a job well done by Tyson Fury, as for Wilder he's had a good run and didn't just lose to any fighter, he lost to a damn good highly skilled bigger man.

I was never a big fan of wilder, even less so after being dubbed hardest hw puncher in history. Does anybody really think he hits harder than tyson, foreman ... heck even ruddock and Morrison. Wilder talked himself into a 25M payday, good for him. Reality set in tonight. American HW revival is a long way away.

To the idiots like CST80 Wilder was overrated due to his poor opposition

Martin was underrated AFTER the Joshua loss.

I must admit I underrated him. I thought he was on a similar level to Washington, before and after the AJ fight. But the way he fought vs Kownacki and now beating Washington shows he's better than some like me thought.

I still don't think he's top level, Whyte, Ortiz, Usyk, Chisora, Povetkin if he has anything left, Hunter etc I think all beat him, but he's not as terrible as the AJ fight made him out to be.

I based his timing speed and power he showed us before the Joshua fight. Joshua just had more of it altogheter. Wilder also has height/reach=range+ speed+timing and power.

People tend to underrate/overrate boxers actual talents by opposition rather than the actual hardware showed of during the fights against the opposition. A fast right hand is always a fast right hand etc.

Now because of the opposition Wilder's KO percentage dropped even more from the full 100 he once was so proud of.

I don't think Wilder's resume would look so different from Martin's if he had the same resume. We have to give credit to his management for the carefully picked opposition and hypejob bringing on (paying?) the LDBC etc. Some people actually believed in this.
