Why did it take Fury so long to finish Wilder after Rd 3 knock down?

I was specifically referring to his tactics in the 6th round. A round that he could have got the KO in, had he stepped back and let his shots flow. He was forcing it at times and smothering his own work.

Yes his leaning onto Wilder sapped his strength in the other rounds. However when you have your man there for the taking and only need to put a few clean shots together to win- do it.

This was in response to the OP implying that Fury should have forced the stoppage earlier. My view is that he could only have got it in the 6th no earlier than that.

 

He simply didn't go ape**** trying to finish the fight right there and then. there was no need to, he felt Wilder wasn't in. Other fighters would have started windmilling, but those fighters tend to be unskilled hypejobs.

 

I pick d), which means Fury has good power in his hands despite what his haters like to pretend. I wanted to pick c), but that would have meant Deonturd has the glassiest china porcelain chin in the whole division. I know, i know many people have said that for years, but i wouldn't dare.

 

Fury was smothering his work at times.
Bayless is a crap ref that wouldn't just let them fight.
Wilder showed a lot of heart and refused to quit.

 

Wilder was holding every time Fury closed the distance. No need for Fury to take chances against a dangerous puncher. He controlled the fight and dominated from the opening bell. Pushing for a KO would have been an unnecessary risk. Fury was disciplined, sharp and having fun putting a severe beating on Wilder. I wish they would have allowed the fight to continue because Wilder was ready to go and would not have finished the fight on his feet. Sorry the Wilder corner deprived fans from seeing loud mouth Bombsquad getting the 10 count. It was still an entertaining beat down.
