To the highest bidder. Him desperately trying to give Wilder time to recover, issuing that disgusting point deduction, missing the KD... This guy also awarded Shane Mosley with a KD after he body slammed Pac. Even Mosley was like, you serious bro?
Yeah. Bayless is crap. A good referee is a non-factor in a fight. A good ref calls it down the middle. With Bayless he has to make himself the center of attention.
Bayless was doing what he was paid to do...protect Wilder, like he was paid to protect Mayweather. Really awful job last night. There was no need to make those warnings.
Bayless refereed that fight like a Wilder fan. The point deduction was clearly to give Wilder time to recover, as he was very close to being stopped. Never remember seeing a referee deduct a point with no previous warnings when the other guy is ready to be knocked down/out! There was another knock down he ruled out despite Wilder falling forward and to the floor. Disgusting. He should face an investigation for that.
He looked tiny in there and looked to be struggling to establish authority in there. I thought the point reduction was excessive. He might have missed a knockdown. I'll have to go back and watch that in slow motion. My overall impression is he was trying so hard to establish control that he ended up making himself part of the fight. Even when the two fighters were clinching they were still fighting. Still throwing punches. Why be so quick to break the fighters up? I loved Fury's attitude though. He did not seem to care about the point reduction and was determined to not let the fight go to the scorecards.
He stopped the fight twice in the 5th round for no reason to give Wilder a break. He's a dirty corrupt POS, Bob Bennet's lapdog.
