No excuses. Look i hate that he had a busted ear drum early in the fight and i wished it didnt happen because that's a way people can have excuses. Just like if a punch causes a cut early in a fight. With that said cuts and busted ear drums are part of boxing no excuses.
This busted ear drum stuff is still just an excuse and last I heard Wilder had a cut inside the ear, no word of busted ear drum!
I am sure wilder would ko him. booth there records are trash. 41 year old klit is not much better then 38 year old ortiz. Parker and stiverne arent that good either. Old pove also doesnt mean a lot to me. Fury took breazelae out in 1 were aj needed 7 so i think their records are equally trash
Agreed. These guys tend to have total belief in themselves. It's part of what makes them top fighters. So he's in a bit of denial. So what? It happens after most big fights. It's a self protection mechanism and allows fighters to get back in the gym and keep going.
at the Post-Fight Press Conference Wilder's Team said he had a small cut in his ear that bled into his ear! Many uploads of it on youtube with butt-loads of views already!
I'm a big fan of BED wins ie. Bloody Ear Damage wins. They might not be quite up there with JTFO KO wins or No Mas wins but they're still very prestigious and a very manly way to secure victory. Clumping your foe so hard round their lughole that you force it to leak a river of claret has got to be one of those most beautiful sights in all of boxing and deeply rewarding and satisfying means of victory.
It's always funny seeing all this hate for Wilder and the talk of him being a bum. Which I'm willing to bet these are people who has never boxed a day in their life, and can't fight themselves lol. Wilder got beat up for sure, but has my respect for trying to fight in diversity. He has a heart of a champion, and will be back. Tyson Fury did what no other man could do. It was his night yesterday. AJ was written off after his first lost and was even told to not take the rematch. He did rematch and redeemed himself. 42-1-1 is still a hell of a record. I would like to see Wilder get a new trainer like Virgil Hunter. I think Virgil would really help Wilder on offense and defense.
Wilder must think he didn't get enough of a pasting this time around. Either that, or it's Al Haymon's way of cashing Wilder out.
It just shows he's been learning well from watching the post-fight interviews of Zab 'I don't want to make any excuses, but...' Judah.
Old time trainers, Ray Arcel and Whitey Brimstein taught their fighters to go for the ear if the opportunity presented itself. Carlos Monzon did it to Fraser Scott, in their Dec 5 1971 non title fight. Carlos won this affair by stoppage. There have been many before Wilder where fans made excuses for, Clay vs Liston, 1964, and Douglas vs Tyson, 1990. These mythical gods lost, but all athletes if they lose need to be humble in their losses as well as their wins. The better and prepared man won last night, let's see if Wilder can regroup.
