Wilder sucks . His get out of jail free card didn’t work last night. I’m honestly shocked that it took this long for him to take an L. I wanted Joshua to be the one to do it though
I'd still favor Wilder over AJ -- by far. Wilder's loss was way less embarrassing than AJ's. We can't blow off the fact that the first Wilder-Fury fight was damn competitive. This time Fury came in with a killer strategy, and likely some luck, and consequently dominated. But that doesn't invalidate all the success Wilder had in their first fight. Wilder #2 in the division in my book. He should clobber AJ. Honestly, this thread and the posts here are shameful.
The fact is, we need to see more before we can definitely conclude this. I don't disagree with what you're saying as a possibility, or even probability - personally I think Joshua, Ruiz and maybe even Whyte, Parker would beat Wilder, however there is a massive propensity for people to overreact after big fights... how many people said Joshua should retire, was done, could never beat Ruiz etc? I was MASSIVELY impressed with Fury's performance, but we still don't know exactly how much of that was Fury's ability and how much was Wilder's lack of it. Wilder is still 40-1-1 (even if the vast majority was protected), we still need to see Wilder vs. some of the other top 10 heavy's to make these calls. I too was worried for Wilder's health at times last night, he didn't look like he could properly defend himself, but it is possible the 3rd round knockdown affected his balance thereafter.... only he knows this. I'd like to see Wilder fight again but fair play if he wants to retire, he'll do so a rich man a former WBC world champ and will probably be remembered more fondly post his career than during it.
Are you crazy? It was just his first loss so you wanna see him retiring? Don't you think that it's too soon?
Honestly? where does he go from here? A career of fighting over matched opponents has not provided him with the skills to be able to rebuild after this. Will he just go back to fighting bums he can knock out after they outbox him for x amount of rounds? It will be very interesting to see Personally, id sack his corner team, rarely has a poorer display been seen in a corner in such a big fight and it really leaves a person wondering are his team also that bad in the gym and to blame for Wilder being such an inept boxer? is this the reason why he relies so much on his big punch, cause his team havent bothered to train him to do anything else? Given he is an amateur bronze Olympic medallist, he must have has some skill and foundations to begin with but it looks like overtime its just been eaten away
Yep, no jab to speak of, **** lateral movement at best and totally predictable on loading up the right hand. He was exposed by a bigger guy that can actually box well Saturday night. Wilder should wrap it up by fighting that Danny guy with the French name (he's a Brit...sorry, can't remember the name) that's been destroying tomato cans and cab drivers so as to go out with a decent win I guess. lol...
You mean Daniel Dubois, lol. If he's dropped down to fighting novices again he might as well retire. He still has some marquee value even without the belt. Maybe Wilder finally losing will see him address some of this technical issues and listen to trainers, or perhaps he gets better trainers. Either way he will most likely be around for years yet. He has an expensive lifestyle and there so much money in boxing right now, it would be silly for him to quit when there's still money to be made.
