Tyson Fury’s father, John Fury, has revealed that he has told the new WBC champion to retire following his victory over Deontay Wilder – and claims the Gypsy King is considering doing so. He said ‘I want my son to retire now. He’s done enough to prove. It’s been an uphill battle for him. He’s done enough. I want him to pack it in now.’

I think he will take the AJ fight, and if he wins, he'll retire then. Fury has had a very good career. Factor in his out of ring problems, then it's amazing what he has achieved. But, he really needs to beat AJ to truly prove himself as the best HW today.

Fight AJ. Beat AJ. Retire as an all time great.

I think he probably retires after his ESPN deal expires, unless of course he hasn’t fought AJ by then as I’m sure the likes of DAZN will offer even more than ESPN to carry on.

AJ is a £100M fight for each fighter. No way he retires before that.

I think he needs to fight Joshua and Whyte. The latter will forever claim that Fury ran from him if he retired.

Whyte would moan, but its like a jack russell claiming a greyhound never raced him. It would be Fury Chisora 2 all over again. At end of day their will always be someone saying you are scared of them and you quit to avoid them. I hope he fights Joshua but again if he retired i would know and more importantly Tyson would know he was far better than Joshua.

If he retired he'd be a 2 time World Champion who never defended, that would be a first I imagine.

That would be a pretty big duck of Joshua. I don't care about Whyte really.

    Regardless of what you think.

If he retired he and others can only claim he was the best.

If he fights aj and beats him then he can PROVE he is the best.

He has to do the latter imo.

The only thing he’s got left to do is unify. He’s never had a title defence or unified so he should push for the AJ unification next and then if he wins he’s completed the lot. Retire on top
