Good interview with Hearn. I think they all want this fight and I think it will happen. The money is too much for it not to happen. Biggest fear for me is AJ losing to Pulev. Exactly. Some of the same people loudly telling everyone how stupid anyone who picked Wilder looks are interestingly often the same people who believed Ruiz was a nailed on certainty to beat Joshua in the rematch.
In Eddie Hearn's latest IFL TV interview he elaborates on "what he heard" from Fury's camp. He simply says he heard that Fury really was going to take the fight to Wilder .... and in Hearn's estimation that was a suicidal tactic. Interesting, because I've always thought that was the best strategy for AJ to use, if he ever faced Wilder. Boxing cautious would be a much bigger risk for AJ than going for it early on.
Why does Eddie still think AJ is a bigger draw than Fury? I guarantee Wilder vs Fury 2 did more at the gate and combined PPV revenue than AJ Vs Ruiz 2 did.
You're cherry picking 1 fight between 2 of the biggest names in the division. AJ v anybody is huge numbers. Thats how we know AJ's market value. We still don't know what Furys market value is vs anybody else. The Wallinn fight only took a live gate of $1m. BT PPV figures have not been released meaning they were bad.
I did feel that he (Haye) was quite open in admiration of Fury in the live commentary though. Remember thinking that a few times watching live. came across even more on the repeat.
