in the same vein as Peter McNeeley v Marcus Rhode, who takes this match between 2 decent punching, fragile journeymen ?
i think if they fought 5 times Crabtree could win 3 of them. Despite his losing record Jaco had some good moments - Ruddock, a 1 rnd KO of then prospect Mike Simuwelu, floored unbeaten Magne Haavna, a pts win over olympian Hakan Brock and a draw with an admittedly past it David Bey. I could see Jaco getting a quick win here just as easily as i could see him suffer a quick loss.
Crabtree was a bit better. Those wars versus Keene were really entertaining. And him sparking out King Ipitan was a great moment.
yeah, i remember the Ipitan wipe out. Pretty much the 1st punch BC threw. Hit him so hard he broke his ankle lol
I'll go with Crabtree because I think he was more invested in being a "full-time fighter" and took his career more seriously and trained more regularly. Jaco had some surprising outcomes in his career to be sure, but took fights on short notice for the cash and wasn't always in the gym in between. Jaco does have the puncher's chance to be sure though.
Wouldn't last long that's for sure. Crabtree actually had real talent but was totally glass jawed. Jaco was only really wiped out by top 10 guys. I'll say Crabtree inside 3 just on pure instinct because Bobby looked great before he got hit !
LOL. It would be exciting, for all the wrong reasons. I think Crabtree was slightly better, but not by much. I guess I'd go with him by decision.
I don't know,...after all, Jaco's trunks and robe were generally more stylish and better than Bobby's, and that'll go a long way, don't fool yourselves.
judging by Crabtree's record - something like 30 stoppage losses in his career - he does indeed seem glass jawed. However, i watched him vs Berbick on youtube and he took a real pasting from Trevor and was stubborn all he way. But then goes and gets blasted by Noel Quarless..........Noel must have been having one of his "on" nights
Bobby Crabtree was an underrated journeyman and all too often dismissed as a tomato can. He actually won some very decent fights and scored a pretty good number of Knockouts. I’d favor him over Jaco most of the time... Jaco however wasn’t that bad in his first 20 or so fights. Eventually however he became over Matched and ultimately ended up taking any fight he could get on short notice without even training.
