Wilder was only confirmed in this last fight to be a poor boxer with middling defensive skills. But imo we're still not entirely clear whether Deontay has a suspect chin, as I found both of the knockdowns a bit dubious, at the very least quite sloppy in a beyond-latter-era-Bowe way. Each of the knockdowns looked more like slip/pushdowns to my eyes. That said, Deontay was getting hit WAY too much (there's an understatement). I think it's safe to say, Mark Breland ain't making it for Deontay. I get the feeling even if Wilder was a good listener, he needs a fresh new trainer, a Steward or Futch-level guy. Give Wilder a great jab...at least on a Bowe-level, and some wide-open ears (pun intended) to defensive techniques, and he becomes George Foreman (except with even greater one-punch power). Even Big George had been stopped before...that all changed once he started employing his jab more during his comeback. Deontay...NOW is the time.

Exactly. There should be NO debate about this, particularly since he was beat up and knocked out by a fighter he himself correctly noted was not a big punch. Wilder's chin is China. His handlers knew it all along which is why he faces such atrocious "opposition." Like many of have said for a long time, first decent fighter in their prime he faces, his fragile mandible is getting shattered. And now, it has come to pass.
Dillian Whyte & Andre Snickers Ruiz are paying close attention, but a Pie Chart can't be used this criteria The list is very Clear, it goes from the best chins down to less dependable chins
I know Fury is feather fisted but he was still 276 and I don't care who you are if anyone that Big hits you he hurts you
It is absolutely amazing to me that this was not the universal opinion prior to his being exposed by Fury. I have followed boxing for 40 years, and I cannot remember a rated fighter who fought worse "competition" for longer than Wilder.
Wilder was a good champ who held the title for years. He wasn't Wlad (neither is Fury), but he wasn't any worse than AJ imo.
What you describe, you see in most sports forums - especially boxing. However Wilder certainly has had a carefully managed and protected career. His record is filled with no-hopers and faded names like Arreola, Stiverne, This content is protected , Harrison, etc. The two biggest names on his record are near/at 40 y/o Ortiz x2 and Fury x2. Wilder needed a bit of help in Ortiz 1 to recover and is 0-1-1 (more like 0-2) vs. Fury. No doubt he has the big right, but what else? I don't want to see Fury-Wilder 3 until DW fights and wins vs, two top 10 fighters. For example he should fight HWs like Martin or Whyte. If he wins those then fight Fury or Joshua.
Nichols, Sconiers, Romanov and now Fury exposed that fragile mandible. Wilder does have a glass jaw!!!! Thats why he avoided Povetkin and Klitschko.
Are you kidding me, he took punches left right and centre for 7 whole rounds from a 273 lb guy and he looked more solid on his legs compared to AJ vs Ruiz. Wilders jaw is fine along with his toughness. Unfortunately he is very limited Boxing skills wise
Nqh its pure glass, just like his legs. Fury is feather fist and always was. Tho this time he sit on his punches, he is still not harder puncher. AJ will kill him.
