Which other Brit heavies down the years could have finished Wilder in 7 rounds or even less?

Name one fighter Bugner faced that had a 1-2 like Wilder`s, Ali had a quicker 1-2 but his punches weren`t as dangerous.

You're a contradiction. You act so self-righteous in defending Wilder and spouting that crap about armchair pistoleros with no achievements, but you called Fury (who just beat Wilder up) "feather fists" and you call Joshua "The Bodybuilder" ... you even take swipes at greats like Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield when you're bigging up your boy Mike Tyson ..... so, what exactly are your achievements to make you so qualified to take digs at Fury and Joshua then ?

So just to clarify - he actually wasn't ahead at the time of the stoppage?

For a non puncher Ali scored stoppages over way more quality opponents than Wilder has ever or will ever manage. It’s called being a greater fighter and Bugner twice lasting the distance with Ali impresses me a hell of a lot more than Wilder splattering a Breazeale, Ortiz or Spzilka and then getting drubbed x2 by the best fighter he’s met.

You power queens are all the same. Someone scores some stoppages over a few second raters and suddenly they bowl over the legends or quality, tough and brave past contenders (like Bugner who competed into his late 40’s) without breaking a sweat. It’s rubbish.

Bugner wouldn`t have lasted a round v Wilder when he was in his 40`s, he wasd awful v Bruno in`87, Frank should have fought Cooper instead!

he challenged Tim Witherspoon for the WBA heavyweight title. After once again leading on the cards for most of the fight, he ran out of steam and was defeated by knockout in round eleven.

45 years old Bugner would’ve lasted the distance and schooled Wilder on points. Prove me wrong!

Cooper was schooled by Joe but probably levels Deontay when he unleashes the ‘ammer on Wilders Crystal mandible.

Ok so now he was leading on the cards "for most of the fight".

I won't ask you to produce the official scorecards to prove this point as i'm not that cruel and really really don't think you have them.

To be fair there was nothing in that fight at the time of the stoppage. Tim was still in good with King (just) and this is possibly borne out by the scorecards.

Pre-Steward Lewis would have had major problems with Fury but probably knocked him down and scored a SD.

Steward-era Lennox Lewis would have stopped Fury in 9.

I can't say Fury has feather-fists (except relative to his size), but he isn't exactly a great or the most accurate puncher. Fury gets by a lot on his size and his ability to move. His arms are big and high (a bit like 90s Foreman), so it can be frustratingly hard for fighters to land flush on him.

If Fury exposed Wilder, vice versa is also true. Fury can be dropped, hard. Had Deontay the proper, Tyson/Foremanesque skill at finishing hurt fighters, Fury would have been stopped in that first fight.

I'm joining this thread late, but I'd guess I'm in the majority:
Lewis gets him out of there early. Others may struggle before 7 rounds are done.

Forget Lewis...Bruno would have destroyed Wilder IMO.

Cooper didn`t have the reach and was too easy to hit, nor did he have the size to bully Wilder like Fury did in the clinch neither did Bugner.
