What a nutcase, he was going to get badly hurt and that coach was former welterweight champ Mark Breland.

Got to love the way deontay rips in to the ref too who blatantly was trying to help him out. Wilder was fouling left and right too and bayliss had no problem just randomly taking a point from fury

Won’t hurt him. He always can fall back on his acting career.

Mark Breland is a decent guy, had Wilder's best interests in mind, and knows far more about boxing and how to train a fighter than Jay Deas.

If Wilder were a smart man, he'd get rid of the unconscionable Deas and Shelly Finkel too, and promote Breland to be his main trainer.

But he's not a smart man.

Insanity. The guy who threw the towel in, Breland, appears to be the only person around Wilder who both understands boxing and has Wilder’s best interests at heart.

Anyone in his team who seriously wanted to keep him in there with his legs gone and the fight lost getting teed off on by a 270 lb heavyweight should be fired immediately. And no other boxer should go near them.

Excellent move. Breland ruined the fight for Wilder and as good as ripped his belt away from him. Was probably in cahoots with Fury's team and the corrupt referee as well. Breland's made no secret of how much he dislikes Wilder, and he was only waiting for an opportunity to stick the knife in on the biggest stage possible, and all because Wilder was getting the ever living s*** beaten out of him for seven rounds and well on the fast-track to suffering irreversible brain damage, with absolutely no hope of getting back into the fight. Is that any reason to throw in the towel? No, you do that after your fighter suffers a seizure in the dressing room and gets rushed to the hospital, put into a medically induced coma and has a hole drilled in his skull. That's when real men like Jay Deas do it.

Sacked the wrong team member. Needs to get rid of Finkel and Deas and hire Teddy Atlas.

Ive never liked Teddy Atlas but if Wilder still cant even throw basic 1-2s properly Atlas seems like the guy who'll either get him boxing and throwing punches properly or will pistol whip him to get him boxing and throwing punches properly. Sounds like the kind of trainer Wilder needs at the moment.

Deas and Finkel are beyond terrible. A yes man and the guy who wanted Wilder to bulk up to 230. Pair of genuises.

He should fire Deas not Breland.

If you want to talk about real bravery you have to think of Max Kellerman. I don't think I've ever seen anyone display more bravery on the part of other people than he has. It's remarkable how brave he can be by proxy.

There has to be a case for renaming the Medal of Honour the Max Kellerman medal for bravery. The purple heart could also be renamed the Jay Deas medal.

I'd go even further and petition the Oxford English Dictionary to have the noun bravery changed to kellermannery and the adjective honourable changed to deasworthy.

Mark Breland was extremely undeasworthy in his actions to throw in the towel against the kellermanish Wilder, and Wilder is perfectly wilderified in sacking him.
