His dad said in an interview today that this is what he wants him to do and has told him so. What do you all reckon? I wouldn't put it past him to walk away before making a comeback in another 2 or 3 years. I hope he doesn't, as great as his win was he will never be considered an ATG until he beats AJ and makes a few defences against some top contenders. His resume is still fairly light despite his obvious talents.
I hope he doesn't. I want to see him stick around a few years until the Ajagba, Yoka, Joyce, Dubois, Hrgovic crop is ready...
He’s on a roll now. If he keeps himself focused and hungry he could retire in 3 years having cleaned up the division and go down as the undisputed best of his era.
He'll see out the ESPN deal, is that two more fights? So, rematch Wilder, then a stay busy and he's a free agent. That's when he makes the stratospheric sum. By the way, if I were the winner of AJ vs Fury I'd vacate the alphabet belts and fight lucrative exhibition matches around the world for obscene amounts of money. I'd tell anyone that's good enough to come see me when they'd collected my straps and I'd give them a shot at the man. THEN I'd retire
No he won't. He will surely pursuit the Joshua fight considering the money will be ridiculous for that. Aside from that, I don't see why he would be motivated to hit the gym.
He could stick around until he is in his late 30s like Klitschko and Povetkin, but I dont think his wife would be happy , then again boxing keeps his mind focused and keeps him out of trouble, would like to see him in more title fights we havent really seen him fight much since Klitschko fight, Fury is unpredictable you never know what he will do.
He can beat all the top fighters, he can fight everywhere (Europe, US, Asia, etc.) earning like Tyson and Holyfield.
