People are saying Fury didn`t hit Wilder that hard but he clearly did, he turned his hips into his shots something he never used to do, you could see he was putting more into his shots, are people underrating the power Fury displayed in this bout?

Someone that really hits hard, would have sparked Wilder clean out with some of the punches Fury hit him with.
The issue is delivering it as good as Fury, but compared to real powerpunchers Fury isn't up there.
Due to sitting more on his punches the effect was there, but this isn't like he suddenly has Wladschko kinda power.

Fury's punch technique has certainly improved, but mainly from the fact his feet are positioned better when he throws, so he's not off balance and therefore didn't look half as clumsy has he has in the past. I think that certainly helped, but I wouldn't say he's a puncher or anything close to it. Wilder was mouth wide open and on shaky legs from the 3rd onwards. Had he been in there with a real puncher, he'd have been knocked out in the 3rd, or at the very worst laid flat in the 4th. In a way that would have been better for him, because he was done from the 3rd and just took needless punishment.

In the first fight the best shot Fury landed was probably a hard straight right near the end of the 10th, it snapped Wilder's head back but that was it. In the 2nd fight, when the same right hand landed but this time arced over and with more hip drive and shoulder rotation, you saw Wilder physically moved by the shot, his whole upper body driven over to one side. Even when shots were blocked on Wilder gloves you could see him physically moved by the weight of the shot, putting him off balance.

The difference in power between the 2 fights was very apparent. Manny Steward did a similar thing with the light hitting amateur Tommy Hearns and made him sit down and use his leverages and created a fighter with frightening power. Obviously Fury won't ever be a puncher of that caliber as he lacks the snap and explosiveness but he's clearly more of a threat with his power now than before.

I wanted to ask: Will you keep posting daily threads if Wilder hits harder than Foreman, Shavers or Mike Tyson?

He hits so hard that he busted a lip!!!! OMG

    THAT POWER IS GODLIKE

BUSTING A LIP! But he is only 6 foot 9 and 273 pounds ... how is that even possible Mark??!!!

12 ounce gloves id expect would prevent busted lips

I busted a guys lip back at school when i was 5 ft 10 and 120 pounds... maybe I imagined it

He always had respectable power. Any trained boxer his size and weight, can punch pretty hard.

On Saturday he actually sat down on his punches and chased the fight though.

Freddy Roach claimed before the first fight that Fury can punch as hard as Wlad when he wants to

At that weight any clean punch will hurt and knock the opponent down. A big puncher can knock you out even if it's not clean

Tyson Fury trained to take the fight out of the judges hands this time. He didn't want it going to points after the first fight and he learned a lot from the first bout imo. He always had decent power imo, but he was in better shape for the second Wilder fight, looked stronger and planted his feet so putting his body into a lot of those shots this time. He mixed up his shots to head and body as well.

Fury`s balance is brilliant for such a large guy, he`s far more nimble than AJ.

    DEM's Child Bearing Hips!!

    Nichols & Sconiers dropped Wilder!

Wilder got KO'd with head-gear on in the Olympics by a guy who went nowhere as a pro and got KTFO by a Car Wash attendant!

Neither guy has great whiskers, I have a whole dvd of fights where Fury hits the canvas or get wobbled by Bosnian Dunkin' Donuts employees!
