His weight is irrelevant, he used the too light excuse before after the first fight so came in heavy and performed worse. So he knows he can't use the too heavy excuse this time. But fact is it wasn't a factor in either performances. God knows what his weight will be next time. He might think he should come in even heavier so he can KO Fury which obviously is pointless without a way to land with the extra force the weight might give him, but that's something beyond Wilder's capability to comprehend. Or maybe he will come in lighter believing he did better in the first fight when he was lighter so should come in lighter, but again, that didn't work before and won't work next time either, especially with a bigger Fury who will look to maul him whenever he's close.
It doesn`t matter. He actually landed his right hand 4-5 times on Fury, but with zero effect on Fury, probably because of Fury weight and conditioning. He was in way better form this time around. If he is 20 pounds lighter, he will have even less snap in his right hand, so it doesn`t really matter, like saying if he come in lighter he will be faster and will land his right hand. The problem was not that he couldn`t land, but that Fury take his punches like nothing. And another myth was busted, that Wilder is the so call GOAT in terms of power. If Wilder comes in lightly Fury will bully him even more.
He will walk in with a pair of speedos this time and than blame it on his balls being too tight and made his legs weak. Book it.
There is no point in the trilogy, but I guess what else can Wilder do? He can come in at any weight Only complacency can stop Fury winning imo
Because Fury put up his left hand holding off Wilder and took a step back with the punch absorbing the shot better combined with that extra weight.
Wilder should do himself a favour and make his next opponent a recently laid off construction worker. Kudos to him for forging a career and earning some cash but is time to bail, he’s done.
If he's foolish enough to take the rematch he will come in at whatever weight he is... You know he and his team don't track his weight as they told us!! If he's depressed and eating his way out of it he might come in over 240!! Being serious I only see him getting back down to 215_20 in the belief he will be quicker.
This is very complicated situation for Wilder because: 1.If he comes light (normal) 210-220, he would have more speed and stamina but the weight disadvantage vs Fury will be even bigger, remember Fury was 273. This is ridiculous weight disadvantage. 2. If he comes even heavier than 231, the weight disadvantage will be smaller but Wilder will be slower and more fatigued. In Fury-Wilder II Wilder was too slow to begin with IMO. So kind of either way he is ****ed. Tyson Fury is taller, bigger, heavier and stronger than Wilder. The problem is that Wilder relied on his physical advantage to win all his previous fights, not outright boxing skills. Yeah, Wilder really has incredible power, but not superhuman as he likes to think. A 230 vs 270 lbs is 40 lbs (20kg) is too much of a weight difference. Wilder's shots don't do anything to Fury. At 210, Wilder will be 60lbs (30kgs) lighter...
Wilder did not do much better in the first fight. He simply wasn't pressured. He looked terrible, swinging and missing. The difference between the fights was 100% Fury. Wilder actually landed his right early in the second fight, even if glancingly, because Fury went at him.
Wilder and his team need to find answers to Furys clinching and pushing forward at 273 lbs. Wilder will need to dramatically improve his inside fighting skills and footwork and come up with a game plan. Not easy to do in such a short period of time
