Pound-for-pound is make believe. Usyk beat a handful of guys who are too afraid to compete at heavyweight as pros (Gassiev just bowed out of a fight with a journeyman heavyweight because he wasn't happy with his training) and Chazz Witherspoon isn't even the best fighter at his family barbecue. But Usyk looked real smooth beating them. So he's in. That's basically all pound-for-pound is. Doesn't matter if you beat grown men who weigh 108 pounds who Clarissa Shields could probably destroy in a street fight. If you look good doing it, you're pound-for-pound one of the best. It's always been a joke. Sort of like "make sure all the little kids get a medal." But the little kids and their friends aren't in on the joke.
- Huck was a whopping 33 years old - Mchunu is #4 on Boxrec - Hunter is a top 10 HW, not to mentioned he drew with a top 10 HW - I said Cruiserweight was arguably the best division in boxing. It was competitive and some of those guys were champion for a while. As I stated, Huck moved up and beat Povetkin, or at least should have. Briedis disposed of Charr and is at the top of the division now. - You are not presenting any facts. You are simply stating your opinion about how the division sucks. Which is based on nothing.
No one at cruiserweight? Does Huck, Gassiev, Briedis, Hunter, Glowacki and Bellew(aka: virtually the entirety of the CW division) not cut the mustard for you?
Gassiev and Briedis are massive wins in my book. Winning that tourney was super impressive. I had originally picked Dorticos to win it. That tourney was STACKED
Where am I being ignorant? If you disagree with MY opinion tell me yours.... Whom has Usyk beaten that makes him great with his grand total of 17 pro fights. Or is it you being ignorant, not respecting someone else's opinion, but have no real leg to stand on for Usyk. Or than name calling.
Really? Who? What run is much better today, or ever at CW which is better than that row of fighters? I'm genuinely interested as I've zero doubt that Usyk has the best résumé at CW. To the point I think it's so clear you'd have to not watch the fighters, or fights, to argue otherwise. Although you're a very learned poster so I'm obviously not assuming that's the case.
He prefers Holyfield and his murderers row of opponents; such as 5'5" Qawi and De Leon who beat a ton of guys without a Wikipedia page. Usyk ran through a gauntlet of opponents. This guy is an absolute clown. I love Holyfield but I don't understand how people view his CW resume better than Usyk's.
Well, Qawi and DeLeon are awesome, but I'd pick Briedis and Gassiev(plus a few others) to beat both. Flash ain't a clown though, the guy knows his stuff.
