PED Povetkin an out of date Tiddler mate - surely a cracking fight v Bakole would give him more bargaining power for fights v Tony Dosh PPV or The Main Man In Boxing
Bakole must have something about him, even with the Hunter loss people still don't want to fight him which tells you something. I do think he has frailties though, I think Hunter exposed some of them (Like not able to adjust against a smaller opponent). I'm also not sure how effective he is fighting going backwards, he does look the bully type to me in the ring. Be interesting to see how he fares when he is in a bit of real adversity, as in hurt from a shot, tired, coming back the next round etc. However he does look quite good with his shot selection, albeit not the quickest of hand and he carries decent power. To be honest against Hunter you could tell he was only one shot away from wobbling him badly.
Bakole would have to learn to watch the left hook though! Took a huge one off Wach when he was teeing off on him in the corner, Wach timed him and although didn't hurt Bakole, it did catch him with his chin in the air.
**** all that, for a start Dubois didn’t have a long amateur career. How is hrgovic going to get battle hardened for the pro’s if he’s going to swerve even moderately tough fights Just for ranking’s. let’s be honest swerving someone like bakole isn’t a good look.
Bakole is unfortunately in the ‘who needs them’ camp. Seemingly a big risk (despite the Hunter fight) with pretty much no reward
When the public see a great fight, the stock of both fighters tends to rise out of proportion (eg Frock v Groves). Whyte v Bakole would be very entertaining with both very capable of winning - the profile of the winner would go through the roof and the loser could come again. If Whyte won this type of fight, the public would demand that Fury or Tony Dosh PPV fights him for what will hopefully be the Unified World Heavyweight Titles.
Disappointing from hrgovic if true. At some point your gonna need to take on the challenges and prove your good enough. Wish these organisations would get their act together and start counteracting guys trying to go the path of least resistance to jump rankings and start demanding fights get made if guys want to find themselves in positions for title shots etc. Would be a good fight. Hrgovic looks decent with what i,ve seen.
If you was his promoter or manager it’s the best advice. He wants titles and money. Bakole offers neither of those so what does it offer. If Chisora loses to Usyk for instance he offers 10 times what Bakole brings to the table in a winnable fight. They are the fights Hrgović will be targeting. i love Bakole by the way. Just think he will stay avoided until he can bring more to the table. If I was Bakole I would be going all out for Kuzmin or Zhang to get up the rankings and once you are top 5 of a governing body people have to fight you.
