Nobody cares about weights below 147 that's why Any great fighter that weighs 130+ will bulk up to make 147
I would pump the breaks on this one. Mikey just beat a guy who was 3-2-2 in his last seven fights. A guy who couldn’t beat Broner and seems to be in decline. Vargas was bigger but I wouldn’t read too much into this one. Also, the same 3-2-2 fighter got the best of Mikey in several rounds and was much closer than the scorecards indicated. And Vargas has no power. Thurman, Spence, Crawford, Pac would be much tougher opponents. They all move better, punch harder and are much tougher than Vargas. This fight proves Mikey can beat a low level WW. Didn’t we already suspect that?
I thought he was pretty impressive Garcia, he did prove a few people wrong and showed that he can carry a dig at this weight but still not sure in an ideal world that this is the weight for him. The big money fights are at this level so you can understand him wanting to look good at this weight but he obviously carries much more of a threat at the weight below. He doesn’t beat Thurman, Crawford or Spence, all naturally too big and too good for him.
Time will tell. He's got an iron chin (so far), very solid boxing fundamentals, and above average power at welterweight. The ingredients are there. Right now, he's #6.
Ok Go off mickeys punch out put to all hos other fights eg vargas Lol Engage with jessie who as fought at 147 but was shut out by a 147 spence cause he wouldn't engage with spence lol ok if ya say so 147 vargas 147 spence please tell me the difference lol your a fool
Mikey needs to move back down to 140 or 135 if he can make it. His style of sitting back, and waiting for the big shot, is going to get him outpointed by damn near every top level welter.
Did he engage to beat Vargas He wouldn't step towards Spence and threw nothing If your saying otherwise hey no lol
I believe you’re saying you think he didn’t step towards Spence, even though he followed him around most of the fight trying to get inside. So you obviously don’t understand what you’re watching, and therefore not ready for a debate on the subject.
