kinda upset he decided to hang them gloves...he didnt finish his job properly..Manny ranked higher in the entertainment/excitement dept., i didnt care if Manny was not on the P4P list as long as he kept winning with his style. But to be ranked no. 1 and start picking your opponent? Go out with a bang atleast! win or lose

Manny is exciting to watch, but if he keep fighting that style, he won't last to long that's for sure. Mayweather will be missed from boxing, just look at this post. Even after retired, he's still the most talked about boxer on here  :yep

    Let's put it this way:

If Cotto wins against Margarito, will PBF come back and face him?
If Margarito wins against Cotto, will PBF come back and face him?

What are everyone's thought on the potential fallout from the Battle on July 26th?

I dunno, I'm not to sure he'll come back unless the money is right and the event is commercialized to the point of "win, win" for PBF....meaning even if he somehow loses he still looks like the sympathetic, rusty ex-champ that we knew would win if he still loved the sport and was active in the ring. :huh did that make sense.

Sure thing, because Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto represent everything in boxing. What a bunch of sad haters.

Void just go tired of running from Margarito and Cotto, and yes, Void refused to lose to Oscar again, only in the rematch Oscar would have stopped him.

    Void will go WWF.

Floyd was a chump and a joke. He will not be missed. He was not a 'crossover star.' The guy had to fight people like Gatti in order to try to sell tickets, for God's sakes. Every major fight he was a part of he was not the draw: Gatti, De La Hoya, Hatton. He is so uncompelling that Tiger Woods and Chuck Barkley walked out on his ass when he fought Baldi.

If Floyd was a 'crossover star' then I guess Serena Williams is, too, for making "Anaconda 5,000" or whatever it was. Give me a break.

Floyd is a perfect example of what is wrong with the sport: fake 'champions' who cherrypick until they can't do it any longer. That is what happened to Fraud. If he thought he could still get things done at 147, he would still be in the game. He doesn't, he's gone.

If you want to thank someone for retiring The Fraud,

. Fraud is a punk but he's not dumb. He knows what is going to happen at the end of this month, and he doesn't want to look like Carl Lewis any more than he has to by doing a dead sprint from Margo after Margarito plants Cotto Smurf.

. And you deserve thanks, too,

    .

Floyd will fight neither of these men and that is why he hung 'em up.

Don't look for a return, either. Fraud doesn't want to go the way of the forever-tarnished RJJ. The Bum-of-the-Month Club can catch up to you fast, as Tarver showed by laying the smaketh down on Roy's candy ass. Floyd saw that and learned from it.

This is why true greats like

should be held onto for as long as we can. Near the end of a career of greatness that bookended Pretty Fraud's pro sojurn, Calzaghe was destroying Jeff "Tyson" Lacy and vanquishing Mikkel Kessler. He wasn't going after old fighters, he WAS the old fighter and he still got the job done.

That is the stuff of legends, my friends.

Fraud MayFeather was a talented fighter who descended into full punkdom and cherrypicking mode as his career moved forward and he got heavier. At the end, he was only fighting guys who were old or at weights they shouldn't be at in the first place. It was farce. There were no Mikkel Kesslers at the end of Fraud's line.

Boxing won't miss him, at all. Not only was he a full-out punk out of the ring but his style was incredibly fan unfriendly within the squared circle. He ran track between the ropes and potshotted like a putz.

The sooner we forget about him, the better.

He didn't retire to destroy the sport, he retired so the sport wouldn't destroy him.

THey represent a better aspect of boxing then what Mayweather represented. Don't be a hater yourself.

The only hater here is you and clearly, every Mayweather thread you seem to jump in with the same posts. You don't find me in every Margarito thread nor any Cotto thread mentioning Floyd and how he "represents" boxing, the hater here is obvious.

They might represent a better aspect of boxing but Mayweather represented an aspect of boxing as well in terms of skills and accomplishments. When you claim in this site that Mayweather has done pretty much nothing recently it's damn obvious who the hater is considering the man was fighter of the year in 2007 from two fights a hater like yourself doesn't approve of based on personal opinion and no facts. You know Mayweather well enough to realise that he has accomplished far more than both Cotto and Margarito combined, so not being active enough at a time where he considers is the very end of his career is logical, every fighter on his way out wasn't active enough and picked on the major fights especially when he has done far enough to desperately run after legacy. The only fighter worth mentioning for Floyd right now is Cotto and only Cotto, so I don't really understand where the hell does your hate come from except for Margarito and that's a discussion we have had for years.
