Swap that for Wilder and you get exactly the same.

This is the thing, we all know Povetkin will cause him aggro for a few rounds then Whyte will chin him. Why is this PPV, this is a decent undercard fight and nothing more!?

I liked the Rivas fight because he was fresh and brought something different to the table. It was intriguing but this fight is taking the p*** and we shouldn’t be justifying it because he used to be good.

Because right or wrongly, the numbers suggest Whyte is a PPV fighter now and will be until he flops.

Makes me laugh, why not make the Whyte v Hunter fight. If this fight happened a couple of years ago, Povetkin would have chinned Whyte.

I’m not objecting to Whyte being a PPV draw but he does need a good dance partner to justify it. 40 year old, essentially coming off a defeat, already been chinned by AJ, Povetkin doesn’t cut it.

I reckon this bombs. Josh Taylor is fighting on BT if people want to watch boxing without paying £20.

I'll watch the Taylor fight. I'm not paying to watch whyte v povetkin. I'm just happy there is an alternative.

Whyte was the A-side for fights against Chisora, Parker and Rivas. Those fights sold a combined 1.47m buys and therefore at twenty quid a pop generated somewhere in the region of £30m.

I know you already know this, but that's why it's PPV.

Dillian "will fight anyone who can't beat me" Whyte.

£25 to watch Dillian lumber his way to victory against another past it fighter followed by a post fight interview where he calls out Joshua/Fury/Wilder to then sign up to fight Washington/Martin.

    Can't wait

    Thanks Eddie.

Chisora v Whyte sold well because the first fight was so entertaining. This could go a similar way. Chisora had lost to god knows how many people yet it was bought in the hundreds of thousands.

I think people need to remember that the general public don't just want to watch top class boxing; they want to watch entertainers. The go to 'best fight' for a generation will likely end up being one of the Gatti Ward fights or Castillo Corrales I. The latter had eight losses between them and going into the last fight between Gatti and Ward they'd lost eighteen!
