I am sure this one has been discussed a thousand times. I hear a lot of talk about retreads like Garcia and Pacquaio...why not the big unification? Has there been any serious negotiations? What appears to be the hold-up?
I don't know what's going on and I'm curious, too. But I think it is a matter of business. If one of them loses, then he will lose his marketability. If both of them wants to conquer 147 and go up to 154 or more, fight may had already happened. It means one of them is aiming to stay at 147 until the retirement. Regularly paid without dare.
For one, Spence need to get back in the ring. It's pointless to talk about Crawford-Spence right now. Spence was in an accident, he's out of shape and he doesn't have a fight schedule. Until Spence fight again, we don't know if he's still the same fighter.
Politics of the sport unfortunately preventing the fight from happening. If it was a big money fight then it would see people coming around a table to sort out the differences but neither are big stars, doubt it would do well on PPV in the US, so there's no incentive from either side to make the fight happen.
I think Crawford is the best 147 pounder out there, the reason he and Spence haven't fought is Spence and his people think that too.
In listening to Spence's trainer, Spence's side doesn't believe the money is there for the fight, currently. In the meantime, Crawford isn't doing a damn thing to make the fight more lucrative, as he continues to face scrub after scrub. He has to have the weakest resume out of any guy ever touted to be a top pound for pound guy. His resume really sucks arse.
The problem with waiting and waiting is someone can lose. We don't even know what Spence will be like now. I'm more inclined to believe PBC didn't want it as they can keep it all in house at 147. Another thing is how long do you want to wait? Neither of these guy's are huge stars. Crawford is never going to become a star simply as he doesn't have the opponents.
And yet... Bob and Al got together and did Lomachenko-Russell, Gvozdyk-Stevenson, and Fury-Wilder. It ain't the promoters. You just bought into the garbage that Floyd was spewing during his 5 year duck.
Yeah Crawford is his own worst enemy. PimpC & I have had fun over him calling Crawford a " Cold Eyed Assassin" & me saying Crawford's Mother is more scarey than him LOL He's gotta step up soon or it'll be too late
He will **** around and end up with Ortiz or Ennis as his mandatory, waiting for a Spence fight that probably won't be happening. Crawford will be ****ed when that happens.
Its like Floyd's first excuse for why he wouldnt fight Antonio Margarito?? He said " No one knows who he is, I asked people & they didnt know him" ROFLMAO Floyd you certainly knew who he was when he stood in front of you & asked politely " Why wont you fight me "??ROFL Cotto knew who he was when he kicked his ass & made him quit too lol. The latest excuse was the best tho Floyd said " It was God or someone that told me not to fight him" ROFLMAO No Floyd that was FEAR telling you not to fight him, you know the fear that made you lose control of your bowels that day
Spence is in no shape to be fighting. Theres something about his facial expression now, since the accident. It's like that of a slow person that doesnt know whats going on, but keeps smiling. Hes got that same facial expression from the titans on the show "Attack on Titan".
