Well if this happens how I'd like it to happen then it's Goodbye Sky Sports Boxing from me.

I personally hope this cripples Sky Sports Boxing, The only I will feel sorry for if that happens is Andy Clarke and Matt Macklin, they at least try to be fair.

Adam Smith has to be removed from our TV screens, clueless, bias and in my opinion a creepy looking weirdo.

They definitely need other content but what they do have is time. They aren't reliant on early subscription numbers to keep the lights on. They can wait to those rights become available.

It's coming to New Zealand in May for anyone interested. Exciting for us as we don't get a lot of coverage down here.

Listening to Adam Smith it seems Sky are not that bothered about early hour American shows and would be pretty content with Matchroom UK.

If Hearn can squeeze more money out of Sky for the UK business his laughing.

He also confirmed the fights shown promoted by PBC or Top Tank on Sky go through Hearn.

Hearn didn’t sound too committed to Sky in the Boxing Social interview.

I watched IFL one as well and he seemed like they are more than happy to renew with Sky.

He says DAZN ain't looking to do UK shows anytime soon so in that sense going with Sky does make sense as he still needs a broadcaster to pay production costs.

I think this has worked out alright for Hearn. Sky will need to pay him more and that means a bigger budget for UK shows.

The sticky point is I think Sky would want some guarantees that not all the bigger fighters will be fighting in America and would want some commitment to those fighters also fighting in the UK.

The whole DAZN thing really is pretty basic. It's not really a launch in the UK. It's a soft launch simply targeting the boxing hardcore. Those ready to pay a small monthly fee to watch fights at 3am.

Yeah I agree, he is paying a very clever game, he sounded very noncommittal, Hearn said something like.. DAZN is testing the waters, before going full out in our market.

Sky will have to make concessions and so will Hearn, but Sky need Hearn more than Hearn needs Sky right now.

Sky Boxing will end as we know it, they are taking liberties now, £25 a PPV on top of your Sky Subscription.. Every half decent card is PPV now, they have taken advantage of British Boxing fans for too long.

Adam Smith is trying to play it cool, who else will fill Sky Sports Boxing Cards if Hearn walks away? Who? FW is with BT.. who else is there Mick Hennessy?

Sky Sports Boxing will have nothing, Sky will have to agree to "shared" access with AJ and others.

I personally will happily subscribe to DAZN and NEVER buy a Sky PPV again.

I read somewhere that Mick’s deal with Channel 5 was long term so Sky can’t go there even if both parties wanted to (which I doubt). MTK with a £200k rights fee per event via Sky would be interesting.

DAZN must have other sports rights lined up as twelve boxing events in the middle of the night does seem sparse however you look at it.

Can these shows on DAZN uk be recorded or rewatched? So don’t need to tune in at 5am?

I think this is what happens. Matchroom use DAZN as a stick to beat Sky with, not just boxing but darts, snooker, pool etc, knowing full well that they want to stay on Sky in the UK for the PPV revenues. Sky eventually buckle and give Hearn another 5/6 year deal, probably with more PPV dates. Eddie Hearn doesn't want to go with DAZN in the UK as this will be the end of him having a PPV model to utilise anywhere in the world. We, the punters, will then have to pay to see action that the other 200 countries can see for a subscription via DAZN. I may be wrong but listening to Hearn makes me think that going exclusively with DAZN in the UK is the last thing he wants at the moment. He could find himself in a ' Boxnation ' situation while other promoters, even Warren, have access to Sky. Fighters could then leave him for the wider exposure on Sky TV. a total reversal of fortunes with Warren potentially being albe to offer fighters PPV coverage with Matchroom stuck on a subscription app.

You already knew this last part surely ? Matchroom have exclusive rights to provide Sky with their boxing content , that exclusivity can be waived though only on Eddie’s say so.
