Win 5 years ago against Jennings and nothing since? Shouldn't be top 10 with resume at all.

Between Ortiz and Wilder for most overrated boxer since Ottke.

Ortiz was used to prop up Wilder's creaky resume, just as Wilder was used to answer questions about Ortiz's true status. It was a masterpiece of circular reasoning:

Sceptic: 'Wilder's fought a load of cans, has beens and never were's, his resume sucks!'
Fanboy: 'Wilder's legit fool, look what he's done to King Kong!'
Sceptic: 'You mean that old Cuban guy? What's he ever done?'
Fanboy: 'Ortiz is legit, look how well he did against Wilder!'
Sceptic: 'Would you like medical attention?'

Simple question.. Did Andy Ruiz battering AJ make Wlad and Povetkin overrated.. Did Rahman bombing on Lennox make Holyfield overrated.. It’s ok to not like Wilder but again please don’t turn the forum back into the Floyd/Pac fanboy days

Ortiz was just another spoon fed lump to pad out Wlider’s record. Not once but twice ! Although the similar could be said of Fury fighting Wilder for a third time (not that he has a choice it appears, due to Wilder triggering it).

Ortiz is probably in his late 40's and is a bit of a bum beater in his own right.
I thought he would be Wilder's biggest test and he was. He's Wilder's best win.
I think he's finished as a top contender.
I would like him to fight Ruiz though.

Still say ortiz is quality. His big problem is he cant fight on the front foot. Hes a good fighter that was handpicked for wilder. They needed someone with a name and got a name but it was someone that is no good on the front foot. With wilders dimensions and tactics ortiz had to fight on the front foot. Still say anyone that fought on the front foot against ortiz in his prime would have came off second best. Bit of a flaw in the cuban style tho when the opplnent doesnt come to you.

They mugged jennings a bit. Pretty sure jennings outpunched him in that fight. Ortiz invited him in...took more punches but messed him up with his own. Knew he could take jennings power and the opponent would come off second best in thst fight. Anyone going into ortiz would have ended up second best at one point. That points over tho. Still say him v joshuas a decent fight.

That's why a fight like Ortiz Povetkin would give a better measure, since they're both around 40 (if Ortiz's age is correct) and so should have similar decline.

Not really, it just makes Tyson Fury underrated imo. The reason why he was called feather fisted because his style formed around not sitting on his punches.
