When AJ first lost to Ruiz, literally everyone on this forum and most boxing experts completely wrote AJ off.... They said "he's done" and has no chance in the rematch... they said Ruiz exposed him and he'll do it again. Even Tyson Fury said so. Now we are hearing the same thing about Wilder... let's be realistic, is AJ and Wilder comparable in this situation? or is Wilder in a much deeper problem??

Wilder in deeper due to the "aura" being gone. But both are future KOs waiting to happen again

Wilder has been written off his whole career, it was just a matter of him stepping up in level of opposition. Then he did, and we saw.

I thought it was pretty obvious that all AJ had to do with box and move and he would UD Ruiz no problem. Aj just doesn't get very much credit on here. Canelo is in a similar situation. This forum has a lot of people that refuse to admit that they are top tier talent.

To be fair Tyson Fury says a lot of **** and you can't really pay attention to any of it. AJ doesn't

The AJ loss you could simply put down to him getting reckless trying to take Ruiz out after dropping him then getting caught and not recovering. Plus AJ had previously beaten a bunch of top level opponents, so it was more a case of him under performing and being careless than him being exposed. We previously saw him make the same mistake vs Whyte and almost pay the price, the Ruiz fight didn't expose any unknown weaknesses, just Joshua's lack of focus on the job at hand.

The Wilder loss or should I say losses as we all know he lost the first fight too, despite what the judges thought, was worse. We've all known he's been protected and avoided tough fights, Wlad, Povetkin, Whyte and AJ. It wasn't even a case of him making a mistake and getting caught with a big shot when on top like with AJ, he was out boxed in the first fight and then beat up and beat down in the rematch. It wasn't a momentary lapse in concentration that cost him the fight it was a lack of skills and ring smarts, which is a far more serious issue and much harder to overcome.

At this moment in time Deontay is because he hasn't avenged his defeat. Fury is a special fighter though, Ruiz is just a overweight blob. If Tyson retired tomorrow I would still pick Deontay to unify all th belts, as long as he gets him down to 220 again.

Clearly AJ, seeing as even in this very thread, people are belittling him by saying that he lost to a fat guy, and belittling his comeback victory by saying he ran away from the fat guy
Wilder, meanwhile, got absolutely battered from pillar to post with no meaningful response and people are saying 'Well it took a champion on Fury's level to beat Wilder'. No it didn't. Fury's just the first guy Wilder's faced that had any blood in him

IMO Wilder vs Fury is easier to predict compared to Ruiz/Joshua. Fury became the favourite after the first fight. It must be frustrating to be a Wilder fan when Deontays fighting a Ortiz or a Fury because you're just watching him get outboxed and you're just waiting for that right hand. Thats pretty much Wilder vs Fury. I have to say Wilder would be more written off, especially after Furys got up twice from Wilders only weapon.

One guy lost to Tyson Fury. The other lost to an obese 5'11'' man.

    Take your pick.

The bodybuilder got knocked down 4 times and stopped in 7 against a short overweight blob, who lost to Joseph Parker in better condition.
Deontay got knocked down 2 times against the undefeated lineal , and former unified champion. And stopped in 7 rounds.

    Now what looks worse?
