Yes, and they are also usually stacked with atrocious scorecards also. More so than what can be expected of any corrupt promotional outfit.
As if Warren and Hearn don’t have these issues too......maybe you need to go to more shows and rewrite your post. MTK actually seem to be doing a great job so far and whatever their background, who cares! cos reality is they're not alone in having dodgy histories and haven’t seen them in court as many times as some we might mention.
I dunno, but these fights just seemed to pit unusually over-matched "opponents" against prospects who were clearly having their records padded. Matchroom cards have some fights like this, but this was literally every fight, except for one, where the opponent was better than the matchmakers thought and he won due to KD. It just seemed like an usually bad boxing card whose sole purpose was to pad records for local fighters.
it depends on the show tbf and not talking about espn plus its free on youtube. next week looks like a good one with the main event with two prospects with under 16 fights. they have couple more competitve fights. finally they are doing a mini tournament with 4 guys who have less than 10 fights. THey have a card in dubao which has decent cards
I started watching some of their streams a while ago but it was just prospect v journeyman and very boring. Usually one not bad fight on so I now just stick that on so I dont need to watch the rest. I didnt even bother with the event at the weekend - saw it was about 15 fights and not one looked interesting..
Of course prospects are matched against journeymen early on but you have to wonder what these guys are learning when still fighting them in double digit numbers, James Beech Jr for example turned pro under them 3 years ago and his best opponent is probably Louis Fielding? His record is filled with guys that are on long losing streaks with records like 0-9 1-13 1-18 7-77 if his dad had fought guys with records like that her have been undefeated too
With a quick google seems like he is a standard ticket seller in the birmingham area. was under MTK birmingham hasnt done much in the pros and got a low knockout record so they released him and now fights under errol johnson. So hes a small hall fighter that will likely get on a matchroom/queensbury show when they go to birmingham next and fight for an english title. Dont think he is anything to watch regarding MTK. I think what MTK do do however is sign anyone semi promising as an amateur and then drop the ones that dont make the grade out of the small hall shows.
Thanks for the info, you tend to get more knockouts when not matched against very tricky negative shelled up guys who have only been stopped a handful of times in dozens of fights, remember Peter Buckley was one of the few guys Hamed couldn't knock out, one of Beech Jrs two knockouts came against Fielding who probably had the best record of all his opponents. A fella who lives by me James McGivern a good little amateur is turning pro under them, wonder how many journeyman they'll feed him before stepping him up, he's only 22 and Belfast fighters are always good ticket sellers
Have to say recently when watching these shows, if I don't know the fighters I find myself checking the fighters shorts for an MTK logo and then I know who will win.
